NEWS And EVENTS (ARCHIVE)

The title of this should have been "FOLEY: The Movie" considering that the entire 22 minutes of the film was shot without any sound.  I still maintain that my two favorite genres of film to do sound for are Science-Fiction and Horror just because of all the fun you can have making new and incredible sounds.

Why do I put this in the news section you ask?  Because it got accepted to the NYC Horror Film Festival.  It will screen Oct. 24, so if you're in the area, go check it out.

"Finding Neverland" was the closing film for the Savannah Film Festival.  Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet starred in this film about the inspiration for the play PETER PAN.  It's a good film to take a date to so when it hits theaters, make sure to check it out.  The theater was completely packed and I ended up going from not having a ticket to getting into the "reserved for important people" section with 2 VIP passes and then gained access to the after party with all the filmmakers.  It just goes to show you that anything is possible so if you're going to a festival (any festival), make sure you get involved.... even if you think you can't get into it.
Well, I'm about to go to bed here on election night.  Bush looks like he'll win but please remember that winning the election by less than a 2% margin should never be considered a "victory."

50% of the nation with the highest (and most divided) vote count to date in the past 30 years should let you know as a president that you have a serious problem with your nation's support.

At this point, I'm not sure which is a bigger threat, a continuing term of our ignorant president or his ignorant supporters blindly chanting "4 more years, 4 more years."

PRODUCTION of my NYC Documentary has finished!
Production Stills!!

Now all I have to do is edit all the footage together.  Once this project is completed, I'll try to make a collective DVD of all my documentary projects from this year.

AS A SIDE NOTE:
I just checked the RottenTomatoes.com review of Surviving Christmas.  WOW, a 7% (out of 100).

I work at a studio that recorded a few replacement lines for Ben Affleck during the production of that movie.  I'm not sure if they'll  put me in the screen credits but if they did...  look for ASSISTANT ADR RECORDIST.  That is if anyone goes out to see the movie in the first place.

This makes what, 6 consecutive flops for Ben Affleck.  What a tough break.  Hope he still has his day job.

I just restructured the Sound Design and Music as well as the Film and Video Sections of my webpage.  I found a way to get video clips on the site so hopefully I'll be able to add them soon.

The problem of having web hosting that's free (besides the ads) is how little space you have on their servers.  One video clip would be so large of a file that I would have just enough space to put it on the site and ONLY that one thing.  I wouldn't even be able to tell you what the clip is about.  I think I found away around this problem so we'll see how it goes.

Grades are in for Fall Quarter.  I now have a 3.86 GPA and a 3.9 in my major of study.

Thank you once again to John Randall and Gabe Ostley.  I got an A in the class all because of you.  I'm working on a special edition DVD of the project so you'll have something to put in your collection.

I moved the production stills over to the archive.  If you want to check them out, just click the News and Archive link in the right hand column and look for the big poster.

Merry Christmas!!

Here's a brand new picture of the new
studio.  I'll try and post updates as the new facility becomes more and more functional.  The building will have 2 Video Edit Suites and 2 THX certified 5.1 Surround Sound Pro Tools HD Suites.  Since we're building it from the ground up, we're constructing the 2 studios with a floating floor and an eight inch concrete isolation wall surrounding each Mix Suite.  Finally a Professional Studio, not a converted office building!

Click the Studio link to check back for more information.

Happy New Year!!

Hope the holidays have been good to you.  I updated my site and I'm adding a brand new section!  PHOTOGRAPHY.  The section is still under construction but I have a few low resolution images loaded on to it.

The images are all originals and a full resolution 300 DPI 10" x 8" version is available for each picture.  If you're interested in purchasing a photo for personal, promotional, or commercial use, please feel free to contact me.

Classes have begun and now we're into mid terms.  I have taken on 6 projects.  I'm shooting one, helping as a grip and camera operator for 2 others and sound designing the rest.  I am completely swamped so I apologize for the delay in my updates.  The studio is progressing as well so all my extra free time is spent building and sound proofing my brand new office.

I have a lot of updates to make but I'll have to hold on putting them up until after my schedule has calmed down a bit.
