4 lbs. round steak, cut 1/2 inch thick
* Combine all ingredients except round steak in a saucepan.
* Bring to a boil, then simmer gently for about 5 minutes over low heat.
* Keep barbecue sauce hot.
* Pound steak and cut into serving-size portions.
* Place pieces in a large roasting pan.
* Pour hot sauce over meat.
* Cover tightly and bake in moderate oven at 325� F. for 1 1/2 - 2 hours.
Makes 8 - 10 servings.

8 hard-cooked eggs

* Bring water and milk to a boil.
* Add salt, asparagus, carrots, onion, celery and green pepper.
* Simmer, covered for 20 minutes until vegetables are tender,yet crisp.

* Sprinkle this over the top of vegetables.
* Cover and heat, just until cheese is melted.
* Use a slotted spoon to serve.

* Put first 5 ingredients in a pan and bring to a boil.
* Let cool to room temperature and add yeast, baking powder, soda and enough flour to make a stiff batter.
* Let this rise 15 minutes, add more flour to
make a stiff dough.
* Knead, cover dough and put in refrigerator, 24 hours before using. Dough can be kept for 3 weeks.
* Take from refrigerator and shape into rolls.
* Let rise 1 hour or until light.
* Bake 400� F. for about 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1 (2 1/2 oz.) jar dried beef, finely snipped
2 Tbsp. minced onion
1/2 cup sour cream
1 Tbsp. milk
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
2 Tbsp. green pepper, finely chopped

* Blend cream cheese in milk.
* Stir in dried beef, onion, green pepper and mix well.
* Add sour cream.
* Put into 8 inch pie pan or small baking dish.
* Sprinkle walnuts over top.

* Combine soup, sour cream, sherry and pour over top.

* Cream shortening, sugar and egg thoroughly.
* Add flour mixture alternately with applesauce, raisins and nut meats.
* Add oatmeal last.
* Blend well.
* Drop by teaspoonsful on greased cookie sheet.
* Bake at 350� F. for about 15 minutes, until they are a light brown.
