This story begins during the end credits of the final episode of Shoujo Kakumei Utena, and continues on after the series.
I freely acknowledge that there is nothing in the show to support a relationship between Wakaba and Juri. I'm not sure they ever even had a conversation. But I think they would have been very good for each other. Juri needs someone cheerful in her life, and Wakaba needs someone physically strong enough to survive her hugs and to give her piggyback rides. Okay, so it's my warped little fantasy, but I think they'd be a cute couple.
Now, who is Yuki?
Yuki was originally going to be my central character in another fanfic I kicked around in my mind but never got around to writing. She is neither a self-insert nor a crossover from another anime. She is one of the Random Students, you know the ones. She is one of the girls who squeals whenever Utena walks by, among the throngs who offer her towels or water bottles after basketball games. She's one of the girls who flocks around Touga, calls for him while Nanami has his cell phone, and possibly even one of the three female silhouettes in his bed when he's on the phone with the Sekai no Hate. She's one of the girls who hangs out at the Kendo dojo to watch Saionji and Touga practice; who joined the fencing club just to get close to Juri, Miki, and/or Ruka; and who attends all of Nanami's parties just to see if she'll do anything embarrassing. She's even been known to hang out with the *ahem* Drama Club. And, more importantly for this story, she is the girl who glomped Wakaba in episode 39.
As for the "imported Pixie Sticks" in Wakaba's snack stash, I got that from the newsgroup alt.fan.utena. I have no idea who originally started it, but it was well ingrained in the lore on afu by the time I joined that group. I'm not active on afu anymore, so I don't know how much the non-canon mythos has evolved since then.
"Tsugi!" was written as my entry for the Utena Lemon Extravaganza, a fanfiction contest held on alt.fan.utena back in 2000. Needless to say, because this story is not actually a lemon, I did not win the contest. But I did have fun.
Oh yeah, and because this is one of my earlier fanfics, it's rife with "fanboy Japanese." (I suppose in my case, that would be "fangirl Japanese.") You know, using random, simple Japanese words here and there, although there are perfectly good English words. All I can say is I'm sorry! I swear, I don't do this anymore! I'm sorry!
