The gaurdian cats are very special kitties. They help the scouts out by training them and giving them advise on what to do if in trouble. Luna and Artemis are the two original cats from the Silver Millenium.They come from the planet Mau. They were the advisors to Serena's mother,Queen Serenity. When the Moon Kingdom was attacked by the Negaverse the queen sent all the scouts and the cats to the future earth. Luna and Artemis where to awaken the scouts if the Negaverse was to ever attack the earth a second time.
ARTEMIS
Artemis was the first to re-awaken. He found Mina where she lived at that time and gave her memory back of her idenity as Sailor Venus. She was the first of the scouts to battle against the Negaverse,even before Sailor Moon.In England she was called Sailor V.
LUNA
A year after Artemis found Mina, Luna found Serena. Serena saved Luna from some boys that were hurting her. Serena peeled off the band-aid on her head and found a glowing cresent moon. Luna then appered in Serena's room and gave her back her memory of being Sailor Moon. Luna later found the rest of the Inner Senshi and re-awakened them also. Artimus and Mina came and became the rest of the team.
DIANA
Diana in Luna and Artemis's daughter from the future just as Rini is Serena's and Darien's daughter from the future. Diana also came from the future to be a gaurdian kitty in training. Diana fisrt came when she ran up to Artemis calling him daddy, Luna thought he had cheated on her.She later apologized for jumping to conclusions when they found out who she was.

At one point in the Sailor Moon S movie Luna falls deeply in love with a human named Kakeru. He then gets deathly ill, Luna then cries out in dispair and wished she could be human for one night so she can help him get better. She does get her wish but only for a short time. Kakeru then hooks up with his girlfriend again, Luna was crushed but Artemis was there for her even though she had not treated him very nice. Luna then relized how much she did care for him.
