"O Lord, my God! Praise and thanksgiving be unto Thee for thou hast guided me to the highway of the kingdom, suffered me to walk in this straight and far-stretching path, illumined my eye by beholding the splendors of Thy light, inclined my ear to the melodies of the birds of holiness from the kingdom of mysteries and attracted my heart with Thy love among the righteous."
-'Abdu'l-Baha,
(from the teaching prayer for the Central States)

A hero of mine once told me to always remember that "Everyone has a story to tell." Surely this is especially true in the Baha'i community. Whenever we seek deeper understanding of each other, it always comes up. "What is your story?" we ask. "How did you become a Baha'i?" This is, of course, not to leave out those who were born into Baha'i families. We must all pass through the Valley of Search, be our passage there a matter of years of stuggle, or a single breath. What greater epic could exist than the fight and triumph of the soul? And so it is my wish to share my story with you, so that we may know each other more closely, love each other more dearly. I dedicate this story to you, my friend, with love.
