An old poem, which I wrote at Louhelen Baha'i School. I was 15 at the time. So, while the verse may not be brilliant, the sentiments are heartfelt. See in it what you will.
The One Who is My Goal

Yes, I see a world that's shadowed
(as I look about my life),
and what should have been a handshake
was the flashing of a knife.
But I know I hold a promise
of humanity made whole,
and I smile as I think of Him,
the One Who is my Goal.

And I see a world divided
by a suicidal wall
(for a world that kills its children
is a world that must soon fall).
But I know I have a job to do,
and I accept my role;
I will take on this assignment from
the One Who is my Goal.

Yes, I know my road is testing
and that trials tear my heart,
but I'll keep my eyes to glory,
and I will not fall apart.
(It's because I made a promise
that effects my very soul:)
that I'd keep my spirit burning for
the One Who is my Goal.

And the Friends all walk beside me
as we're following the Sun,
and we loudly sing the praises
of the Light that makes us one!
Yes, we know we are the future,
we can make this world a whole!
And we're living (hand in hand), within
the One Who is Our Goal.
