When people see his picture and say, 'What's wrong with his face?' I say 'What the hell are you talking about!?'. ^_^ Zel is one of my most favorite characters in the entire Slayers series. He looks cool he's strong, he mysterious, he's...uh...yeah.
Anyway, his whole look thing started out when he was... oh, I'd say 18, and he wanted power. Rezo appeared and said I will give you power... etc. blah blah blah... Well, maybe not in those words. Okay, he said 'I will give you power, Zelgadiss. You will be completely changed'. Talk about your twist of words... Poor Zelly was turned in to a chimera made up of 1/3 golem, 1/3 blue demon, and 1/3 human. He often curses Rezo and his body.
'Neway, Zel is pretty quiet and doesn't talk much. To cover his face, he wears a hood and cloth mask. After a while he stops wearing it (^_^). Apparently, the creators of the Slayers were going to originally draw up an OAV about how Zelgadiss meets Xelloss, Zel get blamed for stealing some brats, his mask gets blasted off, and that's where they stopped. He later meets up with Lina (Vol. 6). As for Xelloss, Zel is constantly trying to kill him.
