With the failure of the Zeonic Company's MS-06M Zaku Marine Type, the Zimmad Corporation proposed the Gogg as a replacement amphibious prototype. Posessing heavy armor, it was able to withstand the deep sea pressures as well as attacks. Having built in Beam Weapons, the Gogg had a powerful reactor that could be cooled with the sea's water. With all these features, it was truly the first amphibious Mobile Suit.
