| I Like What I've Read...How Can I Become a Wiccan? |
| If you're thinking that you can score a pentagram pendant, don some black clothes, and burn some incense and instantly becoming a wiccan then you are completely and totally...WRONG! Sorry, it's just not that easy. Wicca is not something to take lightly or play around with. Wicca is a religion no matter what anyone says or tells you. This site: religioustolerance.org/witchcra.htm can prove it. We aren't all about magick, spells, and boogity-boogity stuff. If that's what you're looking for, sorry, you came to the wrong place. Wicca is all about promoting love, peace, and respect for nature. Therefore, to be a Wiccan you must understand and fully believe in all of our concepts and beliefs. We have a strong faith in nature and believe that there are many deities that aid us in our magick. You must totally and fully commit yourself to all of our beliefs, which includes believing in nature, believing that the spirit lies in everything in nature, and that anything is possible. Witches also be open minded spirits. Because we have such a horrid history of persecution, we don't persecute others. We respect other relgions, although we do stand up for ourselves when we attacked by fundamentalists of other relgions. You must fully understand the concept of paganism to really be a wiccan. If you are unsure about how to do this, I have includeded a suggested links section. Here are a few tips to get you started. )O( Become in tune with nature and your environment. Take a walk, have a picnic by yourself. Listen to all the sounds of nature. Take in all of the wonderful scents of nature. Feel the cool earth beneath your feet. Feel the warmth of the glorious sun against your skin. All of those things represent the five elements you will learn to love. )O( Read, read, read! Do as much research as you can! The internet is a great resource for beginners. That's how I started! Check out the suggested links section for more info. )O( Networking is a wonderful thing! Check out www.witchvox.com for this. Through networking you can get a teacher/mentor to discuss your new beliefs with. Trust me, it helps, a lot! )O( Keep a journal. Definitely keep a notebook or journal/diary to record all of your beliefs, ponderings, etc. Later, you can look back on all of them and see how much you've spiritually grown. With all this in mind, may your new life be filled with life, love, and laughter! Peace and Blessings, ***Luna*** )O( |
