| Luna: Image I originally started this picture as a fan art for the .hack games/anime. I was listening to the song, Key of the Twilight, and had a cool idea... and it kinda went from there. Originally the tree people seen in the picture were suposed to be just regular old, dead, tree's, but I got kinda bored with that. I got the idea for the tree people mostly from the anime: Blue sub 6, and I figured, what the hell, "The world" in the .hack series has a lot of weird things in it, so in went the tree people. Well, the tree's were originally going to show the line "Auguries of destruction be a lullaby for rebirth" (Thats why the tips of the dead tree branches are froming into butterflies and the whaterfall that is flowing down and forming the base of the stairs.) But since I changed them to tree people, Im not too sure if that works anymore. Oh, and there was also going to be grave stones in from of the tree's at first (which may still happen) The sky is night simply because the song mentions about "the twilight of a summers night." It also originally had stars in it, but due to poor scanning and shading, you really can't see them too well (so I added them with the computer). That's also the reason why it's hard to see the waterfall coming off the tree branch, which is, as I mentioned before, forming the foundation for the stairs. Most of this picture comes from one line: "I believe in fantasies invisible to me," which happens to be my favorite line in the song. The only thing in the picture that is even relativly close to the original idea for it was the door, but even that changed. Originally it was suposed to be at the top of the stairs, and was suposed to drop into nothingness. Then I had this idea that I wanted everything to be connected (Which has no signifigance to the song itself... I just liked the idea...), and I wanted it to originate in the tree people. (Who's roots form the fram for the door, which merges with the waterfall falling from the branch. That then goes down to form the foundation of the stairs, while the actual steps are formed still from the frame of the door. They go up and connect to the mountains in the background. The butterflies are forming from the ends of the dead tree branches, and they are flying into the sky, which contains the moon, stars and planets. Eventually I wanted it to merge again with the ground, which has the rock/earth gollem thing coming out of it, which is once again connected to the tree's. (Yes. I am odd. I am a very odd person) The last thing I want to mention is the two figures climbing the stairs. In all honesty, I put them there for one simple reason, I have an obsession with drawing winged people, and it fit the of the song (come with me in the twilight... etc.) ^_^ Yes, I know that I am odd. And the picture doesn't really fit the song anymore. Believe me, my original idea did... but this one was fun, and I enjoyed doing it.
