A soldier for the Almoen army, she has been through several battles against the Chaotics. Through all of them her unit was forced to retreat. She fights her best in memory of her father Sir Kain Altaire, who gave his life at Chandrille to allow others to escape. She does not know what really happend to her father, but she will find out soon.
Tara has trained herself rigorously to contend with the Chaotic threat. Her combat skills have won her the admiration of her comrades. Magic is beyond her completely but it doesn't really matter to her, steel is her weapon. Tara is not part of the main story, but she does fight in the final battle at Chandrille, and just like the Jamiro siblings she reunites with her father.
