Drake is the commander of the legion of troops assigned to accompany the Guardians of Vlad through their journey. His orders are to aid them in any large battle they may enter. When traveling Drake and his men must travel through use of the roads and are therefore less mobile than the Guadians can be. So when Vlad feels compelled to go somewhere out of the way, Drake and his men continue on towards a planned destination. So for most of the time his unit isn't even with the Guardians.
Drake is a competent commander and soldier, though he does not excel at being one. He is very loyal to his king and will follow orders when given. His only concern is fighting the Chaotics, no force has ever been known to defeat them. Little does he know of Daos and how crucial he will be to the survival of his troops. With his help, Drake's army will last until the final battle.
