Aletha is a priestess of the Elven goddess of Healing, Lanialal. Engaged to Valandur and having life generally treating her well. It seems very odd that she would find interest in Vlad's company at all. Actually Aletha is on a secret mission for her goddess, who does not want to show open support for Vlad. When passing through their kingdom Aletha meets up and joins with the Guardians to continue her task. Valandur quickly follows after her and eventually both are chosen as Guardians for Vlad.
As a priestess Aletha knows several spells. Most of them healing or defensive in nature. She stays a ways back from the front lines so that she can focus on healing the wounded. Though Vlad's Guardians have had members with some skill of healing, Aletha will be their first healing specialist. She is bound to her duty to the goddess and will follow Vlad until the end. Putting up with Valandur along the way will at least ensure that she won't have a dull time.
