Hurricane Season '05
On September 21, all Luminus Veritas Spotters were alerted to the presence of Hurricane Rita, slated to make landfall on the Texas coastline September 23/24.

On  October 19, Spotters were advised to watch
Wilma, which made landfall in Mexico, then cruised across Florida.  View Wilma's Path...ameriwx
Spotters also were advised to take note of any further disturbances that could develop into a tropical storm or hurricane throughout the 2005 season.
We are aware that, according to NOAA, the 2005 hurricane season has been recorded as one of the most active on record for the Atlantic, and it wasn't over in November-December 29, the 27th named system of the year developed-Zeta.  Zeta alone has broken a slew of records...
ZETA and an overview of the season
In addition to Rita and Wilma,  there were 7 further named systems in the Atlantic basin-
Ninete, Stan, Tammy, Vince, Alpha, Beta and Zeta.  Of those seven, three achieved hurricane status, with Beta reaching category 3.

Compare those as to 2004's paths.  The 2004 hurricane season was rife with anomalies in the paths of hurricanes, as well as several strong hurricanes.  Look specifically at the paths of Ivan, Jeanne, and Karl.

Spotters are also investigating the paths of hurricanes in the Pacific as well as those in the Atlantic.

Hurricanes are storms, and as such, given to variations.  By their nature, they are unpredictable-although, given the proper equipment and understanding, a reasonable guess as to the probable path of a hurricane can be forecast.
Much more information is required however as to what causes hurricanes to follow the paths they do, and deviate from the course as  predicted.
Please feel free to email us with your thoughts, information, or observations.  If you have an anomaly you wish to see us note, please go to
'report unusual natural phenomena for investigation'. Thanks.
