FROM THE MANGER TO THE CROSS
Easter Sunday
Just as Jesus the baby
didn’t stay in the manger, so Jesus the Christ didn’t stay in the tomb. He rose again on the third day as he said he
would. He has reconciled us with God, offers us eternal life with him,
beginning now. Christ is risen – He is risen indeed!

The Lord Is Risen Today Arr. Courtney
Choir & Congregation
Christ the Lord is risen today,
alleluia!
All creation, join to say alleluia!
Raise your joys and triumphs high,
alleluia!
Sing ye
heavens and earth reply, alleluia!
Love’s redeeming work is done,
alleluia!
Fought the fight, the battle won,
alleluia!
Death in vain forbids him rise,
alleluia!
Christ has opened paradise,
alleluia!
Lives again our glorious King,
alleluia!
Where, O death,
is now thy sting? Alleluia!
Once he died our souls to save,
alleluia!
Where’s thy victory, boasting
grave? Alleluia!
Soar we now
where Christ has led, alleluia!
Following our exalted Head,
alleluia!
Made like Him, like Him we
rise. Alleluia!
Ours the cross, the grave, the
skies, alleluia!

The Church
Family at Prayer
Gracious Redeemer, we come to you on this
morning, remembering your Resurrection.
We expect to find you among the tombs and grace clothes of our
world. But you are alive. Sin cannot hold you. Death cannot bind you, and just as we have
been weeping and mourning that you have been taken from us, you meet us in the
garden of the new life, and send us running to share the good news of the Gospel
to the very ends of the earth. You are risen, indeed! We
have seen you and so we believe that joy comes from grief. Because we are not left alone, we can join
hands with one another and pray together your prayer:
The Lord’s
Prayer
Our
Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth
as it is in heaven. Give us this day our
daily bread. And forgive us our
trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver
us from evil. For thine
is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,
forever. Amen.

of Dedication James F.
White,
Lord,
of Life, submitting to death, you conquered the grave.
By
being lifted on a cross you draw all peoples to you.
By
being raised from the dead
You restored to humanity all that we had
lost through sin.
Throughout
these fifty days of Easter
We proclaim the marvelous mystery of death
and resurrection.
For
all praise is yours, now and throughout eternity. Amen.
The Anthem (
