Where is Lumbini ?

Once upon a time Lumbini was a horticultural spot where
people of Kapilvastu and Devdoha relaxed and got in tune
with nature. Amid the cool shadow of thick sal trees, the
touch of the flowing breeze, and the fragrance of flowers and
fruits, people used to live with peaceful mind. This was the
scenario of twenty-five hundred years back when people
came to Lumbini garden. In Buddhist literature, Lumbini was
addressed as Pradimoksya Vana and compared to the
Chittalate grove of Lord Indra’s paradise in heaven. It was a
place where Bodhisatwa Siddhartha Gautam (Lord Buddha)
put his first step on earth. Now Lumbini is situated in
South-Western Terai of Nepal, 20 km far from Bhairahawa.

The path of Buddha is known as "Buddhism" which spread through
many countries like India, Tibet, China, Korea, Japan, Thailand,
Singapore, Indonesia and many more places from Nepal’s Lumbini. In
these countries, Buddhism has become a major religion. The great
Emperor of India Ashoka, too, became Buddhist and through his
effort, Buddhism flourished all over the world. His inscribed stone
pillar in Lumbini has proven Lumbini as the birthplace of Lord
Buddha.
