The Web of Aphrodite
Oh Aphrodite still and helpless light
You await placidly hidden in grace
You are but a water nymph
Dwelling in these arbors alone
Have you not shelter my love?
And have you not clothing for your flesh and a home?
As I strikingly gaze at first glance
My eyes hunger as if you were prey
I besiege you am no foe, only folly
Yet my bow is fully drawn to a magic
Let us merge our temples and shrine
Still you are hidden my love
Expose yourself
That we may blend together our wine
And as will be will be
Yours is body is so pale and soft
Mine is a pleasure to weave in your loft
Oh dear maiden of grass, fern and leaf
Out from a pool of water you began to sing
Hark now thy beauty and call threefold
Leave your nest and perch
The fruit is ripe, ready to be tasted
And fully indulged
In the hearts of doves
There are spirits in love
In the gallant groves
There are zephyrs that blow
In the concealment of the trees
There is a soul of mystery
Her feet are bare
Her breast is forth upon the ethereal stair
She is innocence and the blue star of light
She has ensnared your desire oh king;
She is Aphrodite.
