DJ Organic's Bio
Prior to his return to the city of his birth, Phoenix, Arizona, DJ Organic lived in Southern California for about four years.  It was there where he began his starts as a DJ. Between small block parties, community center gatherings and car shows, he had a few stints around the Orange County/Long Beach area.  Until the spring of 1999 when he met the acquaintance of a veteran hip hop/house DJ by the name of Cocoe who held down a weekly night in Costa Mesa that was called "Abstract Workshop".  This Wednesday night venue showcased local and nationwide talent. By building an apprenticeship, and in time a friendship with the Abstract Crew which consisted of DJ's and producers such as Doze 77(Jesus Wore Dickies), Josh One(Freshly Baked Wax), Cocoe(Natural Rhythm, Seasons Recordings) and Scotty Coats and Jud Nester(Butter Band), DJ Organic was taken under their wings and in time became one of the resident DJ's for the weekly Wednesday.  The night played host to such acts as Phife from A Tribe Called Quest, the entire Living Legends Crew, Zion I, Aceyalone, Tony da Skitzo, and was frequented on a regular basis by numerous members of the World Famous Beat Junkie Crew from J-Rocc to DJ Whut, members of Jurassic 5, Bus Driver, 2Mex, Awol One and Circus from the Shape Shifters, and also many up and coming artists of the new millenium including Lastman, Trae Sevn, LT, Apryl Khadejah, and Zaire Black.  Being a resident DJ for the night, and being under close supervision by the crew, Organic quickly became a rising DJ in the small, but growing hip hop community of Southern California.  In 2001, Organic moved back to Phoenix, Arizona but kept close ties with the members.  By summer/fall of 2001, Organic was DJ'ing around the valley and hosted his own nights in which he brought his old "partners" out to perform.  In the winter of 2002. Organic joined Lulu in Hollywood as the fifth member and now does production, layout, beat-collaboration and spins the wheels for the band.  Organic also DJ's for Politix 'N' Poetry which is a poetry troop around Phoenix that is planning to spread nationally in the very near future.  He has been privellaged to share the stage (and the turntables) with the likes of DJ Drez, Morse Code, Emanon, Erykah Badu, Drunken Immortals, Shape Shifters, Lyrics Born, Jesus Wore Dickies, Living Legends and Josh One to name a few.  He has traveled the country and seen many places but doesn't want to stop at Phoenix, Arizona.  But he loves his hometown and wants to see the city grow and gain respect as a city filled with multi-genres of music and talent.  Growing up on every style of music without discrimination for ANY genre, he is well-rounded and has an appreciation for music in general.  Organic is very proud of his rise as a DJ/producer and plans to bring Homegrown Productions to the next level.
