You must be here because your room is a mess! Or you know somebody's who's is! All you essentially need is plastic bags, time and determination. Ok, now let's begin.

1. First, you have to understand this is going to be a major spring clean. If you're not ready for that, only follow the appropriate steps.
2. Now using one of your plastic bags go through your books, deciding which ones to keep and which ones to give away. If you have younger siblings, then bear in mind you can keep some baby books for 'hand-me-downs'. Place bags out of room 3. Repeat number 2 but with toys, board games, play stations, cuddly toys etc. If you are a girl, then make up. Note: Excessive amounts of make up is not necessary. If any is past its sell-by, throw it. If things are new, sell them. If not, give your siblings some make you no longer need/want. If the worst comes to the worst, you could make a miniature puppet show where the socks were make-up, or use it up on a party. 4. Now the hard part: all your work. If you don't work in your room, then skip this step. You need to go through all your old paper work deciding which to throw away and which to keep. Don't throw away revision books etc. you could sell these or keep them for siblings. If not, give away. Any old worksheets that are redundant, throw them away or file them. Maybe you have a filling system at school? 5. You should now be left with a pile of all your useful papers. Keep these safe for later. Next: old presents, cards, to-do lists, nick knacks, bits and bobs etc. Most of this you don't need, but if there are exceptions, then keep them. Don't forget to check in drawers and chests etc. Under the bed and/or cot is a major! 6. Now you're room should look completely bare. If not, repeat the same processes mentioned above for anything left. Before you go on, it's wise to paint your room in suitable colours, hoover etc. 7. Time for some new furniture! Most importantly you need a colour scheme consisting of at least one of the following: White, Black or Beige as well as 2 other colours. Got it? Great! 8. Now purchase some new bedding: pillow cases, base sheet, duvet covers and a fitted sheet if necessary. Make sure it goes with your colour scheme. Next, install some shelves or purchase a storage (matching with your colours) to store books. Don't put any books in yet! You'll need a desk (even if it isn't your main work room). A bunk with a underneath desk is ideal. Now, some drawers to keep all your trinkets safe. A wardrobe matching your colours plus any additional storage is all you really need. Make sure you have somewhere to put your:

9. Put all your items back neatly. For work storage, use colour co-ordinated folders for filling. For clothes, a rail is better than a shelf, you may need to purchase coat hangers. Books should be upright. If you don't use all your shelves, display your possessions etc. Underneath t/v storage is ideal. Make up: use a cutlery draw and put lip items, hair items, blusher etc. in each different section. Purchasing a: shoe rack, waste-bin, plants, dream catchers, new posters etc. are a great touch to a room.
