Angel
Angel es un vampiro con alma. Sus raíces están en la serie de la que se escindió: "Buffy, la cazavampiros". Los guionistas de esta serie debieron encontrar muy gracioso, u original (es un decir), que la citada cazavampiros se enamorase precisamente de un vampiro, pero no podría tratarse de un vampiro común, claro que no. Angel era conocido antes como "Angelus", en una de sus matanzas elimino a casi todo un clan gitano, lo que motivo que una de las pocas supervivientes, una anciana gitana, le echara una maldición. Angelus, un cruel y legendario vampiro recupero su alma humana, y con ella su conciencia y remordimientos, y paso de ser el despiadado Angelus, al reprimido y atormentado Angel.
Tras su relación con Buffy, y viendo que por culpa de la maldición, no puede estar con ninguna mujer a la que ame, pues en el momento de absoluta felicidad se convertirá en su alter-ego sádico "Angelus", Angel corta con ella y se traslada a Los Angeles. Allí comienza una nueva vida como investigador privado nocturno, especializado en casos sobrenaturales, enfrentándose a demonios, vampiros, abogados y demás seres maléficos. Así nace el spin-off "Angel".
Poco recuerdo de la primera temporada... tan solo que tenia un socio, un chico medio demonio, que podía adoptar forma demoniaca a voluntad, gozando así de fuerza y resistencia en esos momentos, y de humana fragilidad cuando cambiaba a no-demonio. Este socio estaba dotado de un poder, o una maldición que le conectaba con los "Grandes Poderes" que le hacían llegar visiones de inocentes en peligro a los cuales debían salvar él y Angel.
En la segunda temporada, Doyle, el medio demonio ya no esta, y
Cordelia, antigua compañera de instituto de Buffy, es la que ahora tiene la
maldición/poder de las visiones. Aparte de está, Angel hace equipo con Martin Price, un
estirado ingles expulsado de la organización de Guardianes (los que velan por la rectitud
de las Cazadoras), y Gun, criado en las calles y que se dedicaba a limpiar las calles de
vampiros para defender a sus "hermanos".
En una de las tramas más importantes de esta temporada el bufete
de abogados, Wolfram y Hart, trae de vuelta a la difunta Darla, la vampira creadora de
Angelus, como parte de su siniestro plan. Y esto desata una serie de acontecimientos que
oscurecen el personaje de Angel.

When Lorne gets his sleep removed to prepare for the firm's Halloween Party, he doesn't
realize the consequences. At the party, everyone has do what he tells them to do, but
mystically. In the end, Spike is thinking positively, Gunn is "marking his
territory", Angel and Eve get a room, and Wes and Fred are drunk. They all have to
get Lorne to sleep before...well, watch the episode.

Angel and the gang travel to a surprisingly unusual hell dimension to free Lindsey and
find out what he knows of the Senior Partners' ultimate plans. With Illyria's army defunct
and her plans averted, the gang accepts her as a dubious ally. Wesley, volunteering to be
her guide and mentor, falls slowly into depression and self-destruction. Meanwhile, the
Senior Partners send a new, unstoppable force to find Eve, and Gunn makes an important
decision in an attempt to protect his friends... and save his soul.

Parents bring their son to Wolfram and Hart to try to make sense of their son's superhuman
abilities. Team Angel wants their assistance, but Angel refuses, because it's his son
Connor. A demon is after Connor, but without his memories of his old life, he doesn't have
much of a chance against the demon. True memories are revealed for Connor and a member of
Team Angel

Illyria begins acting more strangely than usual. After a hint from Hamilton, Wesley
discovers that Fred's body is insufficient to contain Illyria's power, and she is about to
explode. Meanwhile, Angel discovers that she is unintentionally leapfrogging through time,
and uses it as possibly the only way to stop her. Gunn begins to have suspicions about
Angel being corrupted.
