How this page comes about:
I've encountered quite a number of problems while upgrading my kernel from 2.2.14 to 2.4.9 on my laptop. I've done a lot of google searching and had seeked help from several forums but in vain. The obstacle that I had was somehow different from the "standard" one. An idea strucked my mind; since everyone used a different distribution (or with a slightly different version number) with a different piece of hardware, why not I help in contributing to the Linux community by specifying all my hardware and software information? Albeit at this point in writing, I'm still having some problem detecting my pcmcia, I would like to use the opportunity to say thanks to Phoenix Hawk (a senior of mine who installed RedHat 6.2 on a server and upgraded its kernel to 2.4.9), Linux Newbie forum and quite a number of other newsgroups which I would not list them here.--
