William J. Carey

ALBANY William Joseph Carey, 77, of Albany, died Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at the Albany Medical Center after a long illness. Bill was the son of the late John Raymond and Mary Loy Carey. He was a graduate of St. John's Academy and Siena College. He was a communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Albany. Bill was an Army veteran who served in the Philippines in 1946. He worked as a credit manager for Commercial Credit and Roskin Brothers, both in Albany, and Panasonic Corporation in Albany and N.J. Surviving him is his beloved wife of 49 years, Joyce Borthwick Carey of Albany. Bill was the cherished father of Christine Daniels and her husband Fred of Schenectady, John Carey and his wife Lori of Ann Arbor, Mich., Timothy Carey and his wife Cecilia of Fort Mill, S.C. and Susan Broderick and her husband Jonathan of Oakland, Calif.; grandfather of Jessica and Margaret Daniels, Mollie and Gabriel Carey, and Wm. Diego and Daniel Carey. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his son, William Jr.; his sister, Anne, and brothers, John, R. Eugene and Francis. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial Saturday morning at 10:30 at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Albany. There will be no evening calling hours. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush. Contributions in Bill's memory may be made to Catholic Charities, Diocese of Albany, 40 North Main Avenue, Albany, NY 12203.
