The Enterpise-D meets a trickster, and trouble (and a string of hilarious events) incurs. Winner of special honorable mention for "extra creativity" in AOL's Star Trek Club's summer fiction contest.
Before you download it, it's only fair I give you a small tidbit: The following is an excerpt from When Stars Collide!
***********Yavin 4********
"Can you land on the surface?" Luke's voice came from over the intercom.
"I think so." Han replied. He managed to get through what looked like 4 squadrons of those "TIE" ships
Picard had seen when he first got to this place.
He landed on the planet, dropped the ramp and climbed down and out the
ramp, Chewie following right behind him.
Mara stood up and stepped out. For the first time, Picard noticed a "blaster"
in a small holster in her arm. He stood, motioned to his crewmates and went
down the ramp to where Han was talking to a being of the same spieces as was
that person named Ackbar back at Coruscant. As he came down, he saw femininity
in the beings eyes.
"Kyp and Kirana Ti went to investigate the temples." She explained. Chewie went back to the ship.
"I wonder why the Empire would attack so suddenly." Han ponderd.
"Perhaps they wish to throw you off track." Worf suggested.
Han looked up and over at the Klingon. "At least I know I'm not crazy,
someone else is thinking like I am."
Chewie came back howling up a storm.
"Slow down Chewie!" Han commanded the Wookie, grabbing his arms.
Chewie's wild growls turned into a long series of growls.
"What is it?" Picard asked.
Han looked up again, "The Falcon's sensors picked up some things scatterd
around. Moving, but not alive."
The group moved a small path, leading to a building not far from the Jedi
Academy. Mara stopped.
Han turned around, "Could we?" he said.
Mara held a firm hand up to silence him, she mouthed the word "listen"
Han did listen, and Chewie looked as if he was too.
Picard strained his ears, but heard nothing. However, after a minute, he heard what Jade had
originally. A series a long, stranded beeps and computer code.
"I do not recognize the sound sir" Data said.
Chewie growled.
"Right Chewie, he wouldn't," Han grimaced, "but I do, there must be at least
fifteen of them out there!"
The coding got louder and louder.
"Sir," Data began.
"Yes Data?" Picard whisperd.
"I have got a...bad feeling about this."
