| ABOUT MY BAND Well my band. They aren�t really, I�m just a member of it so don�t think I�m all rich now and I own bands. Anyways I mainly play with 4 bands�Essential brass (Brass Quintet), Mambo Mania (Latin Quartet) and Wacky (Roving Comedy Quartet). Essential Brass I have been playing with for a couple of years now and we mainly play for university graduations and the occasional school workshop. Most of the people that play in it are from the College so it's always fun catching up and having a toot while sneaking away half way through the ceremonies to get a drink or lunch :-) Mambo Mania is a group that was formed in 1998 and has been working in the field since 1999. We do roving gigs, parties, clubs and even the tennis early this year. Basically the group is a roving latin quartet although on occasions we do play static for weddings and parties. New on the bands list is a group called the Oxo Cubans. This is the group i have idolised since I first heard their cd my brother brought home. Its been rejuvinated for a tour of Adelaide for a caberet show and who knows what will happen after that...but for the moment I'm enjoying being a part of it and playing with some idols. Well the last band I mentioned is Wacky�by far the best band I have ever had the privilege of playing in. It consists mainly of 4 people including myself. The set up for the group is Saxophone, Trombone, Tuba and Drums. Its been going for about 9 years now and I joined in 1998 for an extensive 6 month trail period hehe. I still haven't been initiated yet...thankgoodness ;-). The players in it are all gods and I love their playing. They also happen to be the funniest guys I know and that�s no joke. During gigs when I�m supposed to be serious I just crack up laughing along with the crowd because the things we do are so �well�WACKY. Wacky essentially is a 4-piece group but it can go down to a solo act or up to a 10 piece group. The type of music we play is essentially Jazz, Funk, Latin, Rock and Pop but we do take requests and have never been stumped before. We mainly do corporate gigs, which is where all the money is, but we do do festivals,shows, street performances, which are open to the public, and private functions. We have been overseas way too many times now and recently toured Singapore. Basically the group is a musical comedy interactive band but to try and say what the band does in words is pretty hard to explain, so check out the band pics and hopefully that�ll give you some idea or you can check out the web page that I gave you before.
