Kyle and I arrived in Edinburgh on Friday May 24. We found our hostel on Cockburn St without a problem. We tried visiting the palace, but the Queen was in town staying there, so we were not allowed to see it!
We walked around getting a feel for the town. We visited old graveyards and little shops and I bought a nice plaid flask. We stopped on High St at a place called the "Fill Station" where we ate a great meal and had a few drinks. Then we went back to our hostel and hit the hay. That way we could get some sleep before our Haggis Tour. We woke up and found High St barricaded off and sanded. All in preparation for the carriage ride of the Queen. We walked down to where our tour started, then walked to our bus and we were off! Our driver(s) were Graham and Craig. Graham had a comical habit of swearing and stereotyping, making our journey great fun. Our first stop was at the William Wallace Memorial. It was over 11 stories tall! One interesting object was a recently constructed memorial statue. It was interesting b/c it looks like Mel Gibson, who played William Wallace in Braveheart!

After visiting the memorial we hopped back in our 25 passenger Mercedes-Benz bright Yellow Haggis van, and we were off. We stopped in a small village for another break. There was a river that ran through the village with the ancient burial ground of the McNab clan. We then stopped for lunch at a place that started with a W. There I tried the Cullin's Skink and some Red Culillen beer. After lunch we stopped in the valley of Glencoe. We heard the stories behind the valley and took some awesome pictures.

After stopping at the Glen Coe, we drove to Eilan Donan Castle. Along the way we heard numerous legends and fairy tales about Scotland. We saw lochs, glens, castles, and numerous waterfalls.
