Lukes TR47 Fanfic Chapter XIV: Life or Death
Jake stepped back.  He wasn't about to fight Denki when he was unarmed.  Denki looked at Joey, smiling.  He was going to finally get what he had been pursuing for so many years.  Joey, however, wasn't going to go without a fight.

Denki was about to swing the sword at Joey when suddenly Trunks appeared out of nowhere.  He landed on Denki's head, knocking them both off balance.  Trunks looked around in confusion, then disappeared again.

Joey took the opportunity to grab Denki's sword, leaving him disarmed.  Denki jumped up quickly, and with a move so quick that not even Joey could stop it, he grabbed the sword out of her hands.

Joey was surprised at how fast Denki had moved, but that was the least of her concerns.  Denki was armed again.  Joey had a brilliant plan.  Before Denki could swing his sword again, Joey teleported to another location.  Denki looked around in surprise, then heard Joey calling to him.

Denki flipped around to see Joey standing a few yards away, outside of the cabin.  He rushed outside after her, then she teleported again.  Denki growled, then saw her standing in another spot.

After three more unsuccessful tries of trying to catch Joey, Denki stopped completely.  "Come on you coward!  Come out and fight!"

Joey was irritated now.  She didn't like Denki that much since he was trying to kill her all the time.  She was about to actually go down and fight him when she got another idea.  She teleported herself to a low tree branch that was out of Denki's reach, then began to concentrate her powers.

After charging up for a few moments, Joey's concentration was broken.  Denki threw his sword at her, but his intent was not to hit her.  The sword flew cleanly through the branch, cutting it off completely.  Joey managed to keep herself from falling by grabbing a higher branch.

She hopped up onto a thicker branch, then began concentrating her psychic powers a second time.  Denki tried to throw his sword again, but he missed.  It clattered to the ground, and Joey continued to charge up.

When Joey was charged completely, she released a ball of psychic energy in Denki's direction.  He tried to avoid it, but it only followed him.  Denki tripped, then the ball of energy engulfed him.  The energy completely surrounded him, then the ball began to shrink.

Moments later the ball of energy completely disappeared, and Denki was nowhere to be seen.  Joey smiled, because she had just teleported Denki not only out of the country, but also off the planet.  Joey knew of a few inhabited planets that supported life and had people living there.  Denki would fit in perfectly, because the one she had sent him to was considered very primitive, if not Medieval.

Joey sighed, then walked back into the cabin.  Everybody was still wondering what exactly had happened.  Joey explained it to them, then they all breathed a sigh of relief.  They no longer had Denki to worry about.  At least, they hoped he wouldn't return somehow.

Cassie was awake and crying, and Michi was trying to calm her down.  Jadsy was being depressed over Ira's death, and Magick was just plain depressed.  She kept flirting with Jake, but he never seemed to notice.

Jake happened to glance at Magick, then noticed that she was staring at him.  Magick hadn't even realized that she was staring at Jake, because she was fantasizing and daydreaming.  She snapped out of her daze, then blushed quite a bit.

Jake smiled, then winked at her.  Magick giggled, then turned away to hide her embarrassment.  Jake knew that Magick was flirting with him, although he never really payed attention enough to actually consider it.  Jake walked over and sat down next to her, then joined in a game of Go Fish.

Magick never seemed to return to a normal color after that, and she realized it.  She transformed into her Black Mew form to hide her blushing, then continued playing.

<Have you noticed that I have yet to mention Luke anywhere in the story?  If you're wondering why that is, it's because I'm taking the time to develop the other characters a bit more.  It always seems as if Joey, Michelle, and Luke are the main focus, and everybody else is just sort of there.>

After the game was over, everybody went outside.  It was a beautiful day outside, so they decided to take a short hike through the woods.  There was a small peak near the cabin, so they decided to climb it.  They took the easy way up to the top, flying the whole way.  Those who couldn't fly were carried.

They reached the summit of the peak quickly.  They were lucky there wasn't anybody around to see them do that.  It would be quite startling to see a group of people flying through the air to the top of a mountain.

After walking around for about 30 minutes, they decided to fly back down.  Michi and Luke decided to wait around a few more minutes before leaving to watch the sunset.

When it started to get dark, they decided to leave.  Luke felt strange for some reason and so did Michi.  They were about halfway down the mountain when a bright burst of energy streaked between them, narrowly missing both of them.

Michi and Luke both looked around in confusion.  Where had that come from, and what was it?  A second burst flew through the air, and missed once again.  Luke and Michi decided that they had better hurry back to the cabin.  They flew in the direction of the cabin at full speed, diving rapidly.

Moments later a third burst of energy flew toward them, much larger than the first two.  This time they weren't so fortunate.  The energy, which was in the form of a glowing ball, hit Luke in the chest.

Luke had been holding Michi's hand, but the second the energy hit him he was thrown upward violently.  He then began tumbling toward the earth rapidly, unable to react since he was unconscious.

Michi faced toward the ground and shot toward it as fast as she could, rapidly gaining speed.  She was worried she wouldn't be able to catch him in time.  Even if she did catch him, would she be flying too fast to pull up in time?

Michi pushed those thoughts out of her mind, concentrating only on flying faster.  Luke was about 400 feet off the ground and falling fast.  Michi knew that she wasn't going to make it.  Suddenly, however, something amazing happened.

Michi was pushing herself as much as possible to catch up to Luke in time, and suddenly she shot forward with incredible speed.  Her stress was great enough that she was actually pushing her psychic power beyond its limits.

Michi caught Luke about 100 feet off the ground, then began slowing down rapidly.  Her slowing wasn't enough, however.  Michi and Luke hit the ground and began rolling.  Michi stopped a few moments later, just a few feet from the edge of a small cliff.

Michi sat up slowly and felt her head.  It was pounding and hurt like crazy, and she was battered and bruised all over.  After brushing herself off and making sure nothing was broken, she stood up.  She glanced around, then noticed that Luke wasn't anywhere to be seen.

Michi followed the skid marks she had left back to a large indentation in the ground.  That was the spot she had hit after trying to slow down.  It was getting too dark to see the marks, so she used her Flash attack to light up the area.

After using Flash, she began following the skid marks.  After a few yards, the skid marks split, and another set led off in another direction.  Michi followed the other set, hoping to find Luke.  She followed them and eventually they ended at the cliff, a little ways away from where Michi had stopped.

Michi gulped, then looked over the edge of the cliff.  It was about 100 feet high, and was a sheer drop.  She scanned the area, but it was getting too dark.  She used Flash again, then looked down at the base of the cliff.

There were fallen rocks and branches at the base, indicating that something had fallen off recently.  She still didn't see Luke, which was a good thing.  Michi still wasn't completely convinced, however.  She flew down to the base of the cliff slowly, then began searching around.

Still she couldn't find Luke anywhere.  Michi then realized that she was going about it all wrong.  She knelt down on one knee, then began concentrating her powers.  She tried to contact Joey to tell her what had happened, and after a few moments she got a reply.

A voice in her head simply said, "Stay where you are.  We'll be right there."

She then tried to make contact with Luke, but for some reason he wasn't answering.  When he had been unconscious in the hospital, his psychic powers allowed him to communicate.  Michi didn't get why he wasn't responding.

Michi stood up, then looked around.  A few moments later she saw a large glowing object approaching.  When it got closer she saw that it was Joey, Magick, Jadsy, and Kat.  They were all using Flash to light the way.

All four of them landed, then ran over to Michelle.  She was bombarded with questions for a few moments, then shushed them.  She explained what had happened, then they all began searching.

They had been searching for about an hour when they all heard Magick yelling.  She was hollering that she had found him.  They all came running and were gathered together within seconds.  Magick was frantic at this point, and was visibly shaken.

They all looked to where Magick was pointing, and sure enough, Luke was there.  They ran over to where he was and stopped.  He was partially buried under a pile of rocks, and by the way his head was turned, he was obviously dead.

<I BET YOU DIDN'T SEE THAT ONE COMING!!!>

Michi fell to the ground in shock.  Joey, Magick, Jads, and Kat all moved the rocks away, then looked at Luke.  He was even more bruised and battered than Michi was, and his clothes were torn in numerous places.

Joey took a deep breath, then knelt down next to Luke's body.  She gently touched his head and paused for a few minutes, then stood back up with a grim look on her face.

"Not even his subconscious is responding.  His powers are completely gone.  Even though he's dead, there would still be a bit of psychic energy left in his body for a good 24 hours," Joey said.  She hesitated and took a deep breath.  "I think someone drained his powers and murdered him, then put his body here to make it look like an accident."

<How's that for a plot twist and a half?  I don't even plan these things out.  When I type these stories, I type the ideas as they appear in my head.  It makes for an interesting story, but tends to leave large gaps.>

Michi looked up at Joey.  "Murdered?"

Joey nodded.  Michelle stood up, then remembered the ball of energy that had hit Luke.  She never told them about that in much detail.  Mostly she had explained about losing track of him.  Joey was especially interested now.

They all pondered who had done that for a few moments, then realized that they more important things to do.  Michi pulled out her cell phone, then called the police.  They showed up a few minutes later in a chopper, then began to seal off the area with police tape.

One of the officers approached Michi and began rapidly asking her questions.  She answered them all, and the man left a few minutes later.  Some paramedics put Luke's body in a body bag, then left in an ambulance.

When things started to calm down, everybody walked back to the cabin.  They were escorted by a few officers for safety and protection (as if they would help), so they couldn't just fly back.  When the officers finally left, the members all gathered together for a meeting.

Joey was the most concerned, because someone very powerful was on the loose.  They would have to be extremely powerful to be able to knock Luke out, then completely drain his powers and murder him.  He was always able to defend himself in any situation.  The only time he hadn't was the time when . . .

Suddenly it dawned on Joey.  She jumped up while Jadsy was talking and interrupted her by yelling, "TAC MURDERED LUKE!!!"

Everybody simultaneously snapped their heads in Joey's direction, surprised by what she had just said.  Joey blushed, then sat back down.

"Tac was the one that killed Luke.  I just know it.  Think about it.  Tac is the only person I know that's strong enough to completely drain a Pokmon's psychic powers.  He was also the only person that ever beat Luke in battle.  Luke beat him the first time they battled, but Tac obviously won the second time, seeing as how he completely destroyed the Headquarters."

It started to make sense to everybody as Joey continued.  Eventually they were al convinced.  That sickened them, because if Tac had truly drained Luke's psychic powers he would be much stronger.  The thought was frightening.  If Tac were to attack again, how would they defend themselves?

Meanwhile, Luke was standing in Heaven in front of the podium for the second time.  The person behind the podium was someone else.  The last person had sworn at Luke one too many times, so he was kicked out.

The new guy looked at Luke, then began rapidly flipping through the pages of the book he was holding.  It contained the events in Luke's life, however this time it had more pages since Luke had been granted a second chance.

Then man eventually put down the book and smiled.  "You have an appointment that you need to be at right about now."

"I am?" Luke said.  "Where?"

The man snapped his fingers, then Luke found himself in a room.  There was a desk at one and, and behind it was a large person.  There was a single chair in front of the desk, so Luke sat down.

"Luke, I have a special assignment for you.  Everybody gets one before entering Heaven.  I know that you'll be more than happy to accept it."

"Of course, but what is it?" Luke asked.

The man picked up a ring off the desk, and handed it to Luke.  He immediately recognized it as a replica Michi's wedding ring.  Luke was a bit confused.  What did that have to do with his assignment?

"That's Michi's, but why are you showing it to me?"

"You tell me," the man replied.

Luke thought for a moment, then suddenly it occurred to him what it was for.  He put the ring down on the desk, then sighed.  He thought for a moment about what he was going to say.

"You want me to go down and watch over Michi."

"Exactly," the man replied.  "Everybody always has someone watching over them, but it would only be fitting that you took charge of protecting Michelle."

Luke stood up and smiled, then he and the person shook hands.  Luke was about to leave when a question appeared in his mind.

"Who was the person that was keeping track of me?"

The man smiled, then pointed to a door.  The door opened, and Ira was standing there.  Luke walked over to him, then smiled.  A little while later Luke found himself standing back on Earth.  He couldn't be seen, however, since he was dead.

Luke's only objective was to keep Michi safe, and he would carry that out to the highest extent possible.  Luke was worried, because he knew that Tac would strike TR47 soon.  Somehow he would have to prevent Tac from doing that.

Luke appeared in Michi's bedroom and looked at her.  She was sleeping soundly, her arms wrapped around Luke's pillow.  He could tell just by looking at her that she was depressed.

Luke was relieved that Michi was asleep.  He walked to the bed and looked at Michi, then touched her gently.  He caressed her face, then stepped back.  She obviously couldn't feel his touch physically, but she would be able to sense his presence there.  Luke then touched her head again, and disappeared.

When Luke appeared in the new location, he looked around.  He was in Michi's subconscious, which was in the middle of a dream sequence.  It was early in the morning, but it was late enough that Michi would be waking up soon.  That was the best time for him to do what he was doing, because Michi would remember it better.

There was a large open field, and the air was warm.  Luke found Mich a few moments later.  She was lying in the grass looking up at the sky.  The person sitting next to Michi was himself.  It was a bit startling for Luke to see himself, but it was a dream.

Luke slowly began walking in Michi's direction.  She sat up and looked at him, then slowly stood up.  There was a look of shock on her face.  Mostly, she was shocked to see Luke.

"Don't be afraid," Luke said.  "I'm just here to say that I will always be watching over you."

"I've missed you so much," Michi said as she ran into his arms.

"I've missed you too, but don't worry.  If you ever feel alone, just remember that I'll always be standing by your side, keeping you safe."

Suddenly a faint voice echoed across the vast field, which gradually became louder.

"Time for you to get up, Michelle.  Don't even forget this.  I want you to get a notebook and write down everything that you remember before you do anything else."

Michi nodded, then hugged Luke.  The dream faded, and the voice continued.  When Michi woke up, she realized that Joey was knocking on her bedroom door.  She glanced over at the clock, then saw that it was 9:00 A.M.

Michi then remembered the dream.  She told Joey to leave her alone, then pulled out a notebook.  She sat down at a desk that was in the bedroom, then began writing down everything she could remember from the point she had first seen Luke in the dream.

About halfway through, Michi couldn't remember what exactly had happened.  She desperately tried to remember everything, but it was leaving her quickly.  She groaned and hit her head on the desk, trying to remember everything.

Suddenly inspiration hit her and she remembered the rest of the dream.  By the time she was finished writing, there were 15 pages written about the dream.  She was glad she had remembered it all.

Michi didn't realize, but Luke had been helping her.  He had whispered in Michi's ear when she hit her head on the desk, which was the cause for her inspiration.  Since it was his assignment, Luke followed Michi everywhere she went.

Michi showed the notebook to the other members, and they were impressed.  A few of them doubted if Michi had truly had that dream, but the ones who knew Michi really well knew that what was written in the notebook had actually been in a dream.

It wasn't long before everybody livened up again.  Luke could tell that Magick and Jake had become a couple.  He happened to glance at them when they were sitting together on the couch, and saw Ira sitting on the other side of Magick.  Luke smiled, then walked over to him.

"So, you're Magick's guardian angel?" Luke asked.

"As strange as it seems, yes," Ira replied.  "It seems logical that I would be assigned to be Jadsy's guardian angel, but I'm Magick's.  I'm not complaining, because I can still keep track of everybody else in TR47."

Luke smiled, then sat down next to Michi.  As usual, everybody was playing Go Fish.  It was Jadsy's turn.  Ira leaned closer to her, then he whispered, "10," in her ear.

"Got any 10's?" Jadsy asked Michi after a few moments.

Michi mumbled something, then handed three 10's to her.  Luke looked up at Ira and said, "Cheater."

Ira laughed, then the game continued.  Ira and Luke obviously couldn't be seen by any of the TR47 members, but if they wanted to they could allow whoever they were guarding to see them.

Not long after the game was finished, everybody went to bed.  Ira followed Magick and Luke followed Michi to their rooms.  Luke sat down in a rocking chair and watched Michi as she carefully lifted Cassie out of her cradle.

Michi fed Cassie her bottle, then put her to sleep.  Once Cassie was fast asleep, Michi changed into a nightgown.  She happened to toss her clothes onto the rocking chair after she put her nightgown on.  It seemed strange to Luke that the clothes went right through him, although for him it was normal.

Luke stood up and walked over to Cassie's cradle.  He smiled and stroked her small face lightly, then watched her sleep.  She would grow up not knowing her father.

Luke then sat down on the bed and watched as Michi began drifting off to sleep.  He bent over and kissed her, then she sighed.  Luke jumped back in alarm.  Had she felt that?  Michi sighed again, then Luke realized that it was just her falling asleep.  He whispered, "Good night, sweet dreams," then sat back down on the chair.

Then Luke heard something that made him jump up.  It was far away, but it still alarmed him.  He could hear someone talking, and the voice sounded familiar.  After listening a few minutes, Luke realized who it was.

The voice was Tac's, and he was headed in their direction.  Luke continued to listen to Tac, worried about what he was going to do to protect everybody; mainly Michi.  He heard something that made him angry, and he knew he would have to stop Tac.

"Team Rocket47 will be destroyed once and for all.  They're becoming a pest.  Now that I have control of Luke's powers, I'll be unstoppable.  They won't stand a chance now that he's dead.  My first target will be Michelle."

Then Luke heard a second person.  "Fine, you can kill the Raichu girl and whoever else you want, but remember, Joey is mine.  If you even lay a finger on her, I'll make sure you die slowly."

"As you wish, Denki.  Joey is yours.  She has significance to me as well, but I suppose I'll let you kill her.  I'd rather kill her myself, but since she's worth so much money to you, you can."

They both laughed, and continued moving toward the cabin.  Luke was beyond angry now that he had heard their entire conversation.  He made it his personal goal to stop Tac and Denki.  He wasn't going to let them kill every last member of TR47.  Especially Michi.

This story is getting interesting.  Ira is dead, Luke is dead, both of them are guardian angels for TR47, and now Tac and Denki are both on their way to kill everybody else in TR47.  The plot thickens *dramatic chord*.  Anyway, that's the end of the story.  I suppose I'll get started on Chapter XV.  Seeya soon!
