my horse does not trust me!!
my horse has a real issue and just doesnt seem to trust me.
i am having trouble with him and he is shy of me, but i dont understand as i would never do anything to hurt him.
please help me to get him through this problem.
straight away i can tell that their is a lack of communication between you and your horse, e.g. your horse is french and you are spanish you are just not understanding eachother. your horse may be screaming at you but you are not listening.

i reccomend just spending some quality time with your horse, letting him know that you are there for him.
if you have the right space you could do join up on him, which will build up his trust in you. take him for walks and come to see him in the field. remember when in the field you dont have to always touch the horse phisically just being there and talking to him is a trust building process.
hi,
i have a pony who always shakes her head when having a bit put in or riding.
she also rears and bucks with me and its getting worse.
i may have to sell her or even give her away.
she is so loving on the yard so its a real shame as ive had her from a youngster.
this problem has always occured from teh first time i sat in her.
though when she was 2 she had a bad experience with a bridle, maybe this is my problem.
please any advice would be appreciated.
thanks
hayley
hi,
i am worried this may be a health problem. i suggest that you should consult your vet about it (if you havnt already).
it sounds as if your horse is in pain, horses are not just nasty and dont buck for nothing.
i suggest you check your horses teeth, saddle, bit and bridle to ensure correct fitting

on the other hand perhaps your horse is fustrated or just doesnt like being rode.
in this case i reccomend solid schooling for the horse. a horse shouldnt hack out unless 100% safe in the school first. if you feel you a lacking confidence perhaps get someone to school him or get it done proffessionaly.

also keep in consideration that this "bad experience with a bridle as a youngster" may be causing this problem also, if the horse is scared on its bridle put one in his feed bowl and then when confident hang it in the stable etc to let him know that its not there to hurt him.
hope ive helped you in some way and good luck.
remember the way to sucess with your horse is
tpd (trust patience and determination) this will give you both an equal partnership.
