[Back to 2002/2003 Season page]

Well, it's been 28 weeks in the making, but it's time to find out if you have made it into the season's top 10 plays.

Here they are! From #10, right up to the best moment of the season, #1.

Description of play
10
Hulkamaniacs United. Round 8 - The team pulled together admirably after the unfortunate passing of Phill C's girlfriends father. We played the Aztec Gunners, and pulled off a remarkable victory under the circumstances.
9
He's done it again. In the round 25 blow-out against BFS, the highlight came from Adam, successfully connecting on a close to half court bomb on half time. This would have been higher up if he didn't make a habit of doing it so regularly.
8
D-fence...! D-fence...! This one was more of an on-going highlight throughout the season, and that was the defense of Mark and Phill S. Both players were outstanding in applying physical defensive pressure on any number of opponents all season.
7
And that make's it ten. One of the best individual performances for the season, was undoubtedly was Phill C's effort in round 25. Phill C hit 21 points making 10 field goals for the night, a Hulkamaniacs record.
6
Hulk-up time. Our first clash with the Camels in 2002/2003, and the #6 highlight of the year was a half-time buzzer beater from yours truly, from approximately 40 feet! We went on to win the game by 2 points.
5
Camel clutch. Adam came up big down the stretch in our round 5 game against the Camels. With the game tied, with second remaining, Adam drove the lane and amongst a crowd managed to put home a lay-up to give the Hulkamaniacs the lead for good. It proved to be the game winning shot!
4
Ecstasy before agony. Round 19, with the Camels as our opponent, we were trailing by 2 points with under a minute on the clock. The ball found it's way to me beyond the 3-point arc, and I nailed a 3 pointer to give the Hulkamaniacs the lead! Sadly, the Camels hit a 3 pointer of their own seconds later on the buzzer to win the game.
3
Tell me, he did not just do that. This one is one of two Hulkamaniacs top moments on tape from the round 24 clash with the Wolverines. This one involved Adam (again) being double teams at the top of the key, breaking down the defense, going up with the left hand before switching to his right hand in mid-air, and the shot went down! An unbelievable circus shot, and a somewhat under-rated one at that.

Call 911, he's unconscious. For most of the season, this play (or series of plays) looked to be the highlight of the season and the one that immediately came to mind for me when I thought about the Hulkamaniacs top moments of the season. Beau's 6 3PT Fg's in Round 6 versus Magic Men was an amazing feat and a record that is unlikely to be toppled anytime soon. He finished with 24 points, another record that will be hard to beat.

Call 911.. no, wait.. call the electrician! The undoubted highlight of 2002/2003, was Adam's 94 foot bomb on court 1 in round 24 against the Wolverines. After a wayward three point attempts from a Wolverines player, Adam grabbed the rebound and quickly flung a wild attempt down towards our basket, some 90 feet away. It looked a bit strong - or was it? The ball slammed against the top of the backboard, bounced up and smashed the light directly above the ring and fell down and through for a crazy 3-point basket. Unfortunately for Adam, it didn't count - but the moment was caught on tape and will be etched in Hulkamaniacs folklore for eternity. This was your #1 play of 2002/2003.

Here's a special look at that play, created by Hulkamaniacs devotee Tania. Click here!
