Edition #1 - 11/05/2005 Well the new season is off and flying as we (the Hulkamaniacs) hope to go that one step further than last season! As a team we are more than happy with our progress, bonding and taking it to teams that have in the past defeated us! Individuals have also improved, with Beau becoming more confident and aggressive in offence which has helped take some pressure of myself! Murray has also become a great handler of the ball, and is now willing to take more shots, which is a sweet shot if I may say! Defence has become what we are all about, and as they say - defence wins games, and wins championships! We still need to improve on our defensive rebounding, and boxing out, as that was a key factor to our loss in the final last season! But Phil S and Luke seem to get the job done nite in nite out on the perimeter, whilst most of the time opposition continue to underestimate them as key defenders! This season has promise for us, as we are also looking to change the set up a little, with myself occasionally slipping in to the point guard spot, allowing me to seek out other guys to score and not always having me, play in the low post! Like anyone I do enjoy having control of the ball, but more importantly getting the ball to others and dishing out some great tray's!! The only piece of the puzzle I feel we are missing is that of a solid big man in the middle! Adam, when available, has slotted in, but he needs to be there every week and playing the centre role to really become a full time threat! The other great threat we have lost is Jay! He was a formidimal force in the key, and a wicked defender, willing to put his body on the line! Ross, our newest recruit has fitted in nicely, and continues to make himself an option, running the floor extremely well!!! This year is our year, even though most said the same about last year! Jordan himself said you have to learn how to lose before you can learn how to win!! I think we have done that, and now we must prove we can be champions!!! See ya on the court! PC signing off! |
