The Ceremony Details Continue
Pew Decorations
Since the ceremony was being held in a small chapel, decorations were needed but needed to be understated. The bride created pew decorations, using heart-shape cardboard boxes tops. She then glue blue/yellow flowers on them. Then added yellow/blue ribbon to adorn and hand the decoration.  This was a very time-consuming project but so much fun.

Window Decorations
Originally the couple were going to put single stem candles in the windows. After much thought of how close guests would be to the candles and the concern about children, the bride came up with an idea of having a cone-shaped decoration hanging in the window.
Using the same flowers from the pew decorations, the cone was formed using the manuscript song "Till there was you" from the musical, Music Man.
This song was picked because it was Karl's father, Chip, favorite song. To add some color, sheer periwinkle sheet was wrapped around the cone. Yellow/blue ribbon were connected to the cone and hung from them to give the illusion of floating.

Door Wreath
Wanting to include the groom's Irish heritage, the bride got a wooden wrath from Jo-Ann Fabrics. Adding greenery and light blue flowers, the wreath was hung on the chapel entrance door. The wreath represented Irish knots.
Unity Candle Ceremony
Each guest received a
small clay pot with a votive candle. Each clay pot was painted blue with wording in white saying " Karl and Lulu, May 26, 2002" with a red heart. Then they were glitter sprayed.
The unity candle was lit by the couple, then the couple went to light the votive candles the guests were holding. The lighting of everyone's candles represented the unity of our friends and family and to remember
loved ones not with us.
During this time, Paula Gillen, friend of the bride, and Carlene Shultz, groom's mother, performed the song "
True Love" written by Cole Porter. This song was performed at Grandmother Wegelt's wedding and was performed in the movie "High Society" starring Bing Cosby and Grace Kelly. A beautiful moment!
