The day started out like any other day. Got up, ate, went to work. For the past couple of weeks I have been bleeding/spotting every time I worked out and thought that was strange. I had told my sister and some friends but never gave it much more thought until lunch today when I was meeting with my friend, Samanta. As I was explaining to her what was going on with my body, she expressed that I might be pregnant. I explained that Karl and I actually stopped trying in December since we were going on an Alaskan Cruise in early July and that I didn�t want to be pregnant for that trip. WE have been working on getting pregnant since July with no luck. We had used an ovulation machine that would tell us when I was ovulating. The last time I ovulated was around Dec. 13th but I didn�t� think we had sex that much in Dec. Then I had my period (or what I thought was my period) on Christmas Eve but it only lasted two days. So how can I be pregnant when I�m bleeding now? Samanta explained that it might be implantation bleeding and encouraged me to take a pregnant test right then and now. Well, I wasn�t ready for that so we finished up and went back to work. At 4:30pm I headed home ot get ready to go teach yoga. I figured why not do a test right now before I go. So I did it�. And immediately two lines popped up, showing I was pregnant. I kept looking at the stick making sure if that was really a second line I was seeing. Well I didn�t� have much more time to think since I needed to head out to yoga in Middletown. On the road, I called my sister to explained what was happening. She went crazy!!! She told me to pick up more tests and do them right away. I explained I had to teach yoga and would do it right after that. So I taught yoga and stopped at Happy Harry�s pharmacy to pick up more pregnancy tests. As I was doing that, my friend Keri calls and tells me that she�s pregnant and just found out today at lunch. What a weird world!! I explained to her about me and she told me which test to get. I got First Response and Clearblue that the word pregnant/not pregnant pops up. So I rush home and I lined up the sticks. Here we go!!! One two both sticks get wet. One two both sticks pop out within 5 seconds �PREGNANT!!!� I couldn�t� believe it!!!! What!! How did this happen? It must have been that XMAS I didn�t have my period but just implantation bleeding. How far along am I? Are we ready for this? What about the cruise? All these questions were popping in my head. How am I going to tell Karl?? O boy!!! What a surprise this is. Karl wasn�t coming home until 10pm tonight and I had some other things to do, so I called my sister and confirmed that I was pregnant. She went crazy AGAIN!!!! I called my friend Keri to confirm it. Then went off to my other activities for the night. After those programs, I came home and typed up a cute card to give Karl. I put all the sticks in a gift bag and waited for him. He arrived around 10pm and was tired so he sat and was watching basketball on TV when I gave him the gift bag. He had no clue what it was about so I told him to open it. As he pulled out the sticks, he didn�t understand still what was going on and then I headed him the card explaining �We�re pregnant!�. You never saw bigger shiny eyes than Karl�s. He was glowing!!! He was happy and kept on saying �Really?? Really??? Is this a dream?� We hugged and hugged and hugged and just so excited. We decided to wait on telling people until I had a confirmation from my doctor. Today we woke up as a couple and now we went to bed as a family. So excited to have a new member to our crazy family!!! |
