The Final Countdown Week
Week 40 The time is NOW! Sept. 4th week
Tuesday, Sept. 6th
Well the time has come and gone and no baby luka yet. It was Labor day weekend, and it would have been hilarious if we had the baby out it but no go. Karl and I spent the weekend relaxing and sleeping in. We finished up some projects around the house, and on Sunday spent the day at the university outside pool. It was so perfect the weather and the water. We then grilled out and played some board games. On Monday the 5th, my complex competed against another complex in wacky Olympic games. It was a great turnout and again a beautiful day.. and no baby. Gee whiz!!! Karl and I have been walking, doing whatever to get this labor going. I do have some menstrual-type cramps going on but nothing else. And lots of movement from the baby but no moving out signs. Hopefully it will come on its own because the induction is set for Thursday the 8th and labor is more tougher when induced than if it started it on its own. So two more days before FOR sure our lives change forever. We have gotten lots of phone calls from friends and family which we love but since we have no news, its always a disappointment. Soon enough though!
Wednesday, Sept. 7th
Well this is it!!! Tomorrow we are getting induced at the hospital and hopefully have a baby in hand by the end of the day. Today I spent the day finishing up loose ends at work and last meetings. Then Karl and I went out to dinner, Bertuccis, for our last night as a couple. Then came home and went to bed early. My sister arrived late in the night due to having to work late. Soon well have the little one. Tomorrow we are suppose to get a phone call from the hospital between 4-8am to let us know theres a bed ready for us to head over and then my water will be broken and pitocin will be started. O boy!!!! Here we go!!!

Thursday, Sept. 8th
Baby here. NO, its not!!!!!! WE waited and waited for a phone call from the hospital and never got it. I called my doctors office at 8:30am and was told to wait another hour and call again so we did that. Called 9:30am and they paged my doctor who was at the hospital. She found out that the hospital never had me on the list for induction today, though the order was there. Someone screwed up and forgot to put it into the system. So she rescheduled me for sure on the list for tomorrow, even though theres still a chance of not going in if theres no beds available but at least Ill get a phone call either way. What a rollercoaster of morning!!
So my sister, Karl, and I went for a walk, went out for lunch, then went to my doctors office for an appointment to see how I am doing. Im still 3 cm. with 70% effaced which is good. We met the physician assistant who we will see in the morning and will be around for most of the day. The doctor tomorrow who might deliver the baby wont be my direct doctor but thats okay since they only come in at the last minute. The PA was very nice, explaining what happened this morning and the plan for tomorrow. Theres an induction list and woman on the list get ranked depending on due date, high or low-risk, etc. I look good but am a low-risk and am doing very well as well as the baby. So well just have to see if this happens tomorrow or not.
After the appointment, we went to Vinces Sports Center to play arcade/video games, miniature golf, etc. Theres also batting cages so Karl got to hit some balls. After that, rented a movie, made dinner, did lots of phone calls, and went for another walk. And now going to bed early for another day of anticipation wait for baby Lukaroo to arrive. Hopefully the next email you get will be the good news of the delivery.
