August Stories continues...
Week 36 the top of the 9th inning has begun
Here we go the final stretch. The 9th month. 4 more weeks to go and counting. This week has been very busy. It was the start of Hall director training so many many hours of work and meetings. On Monday we went to the bank, got our car loan, and went and got the new Toyota Matrix aka Trinity as Karl has nicknamed it. Also on Monday we interviewed a pediatrician for the baby and agreed on her. Her name is Theresa DAmato and she is very nice and right next door to the hospital.
The week went by fast and Im getting more and more tired at night time. My feet turn into hobbit feet by 6pm and I get all cracky and very uncomfortable by bedtime. Sleeping is an adventure poor karl gets kicked out and down to the sofa because Im snoring or just turning around so much.
Now during weekly doctor checks, we met another doctor from the practice. Yet another pelvic exam which was very uncomfortable (I dont like!). Baby is getting big and now theres start of maybe the baby might be too big as we got to full term to travel through my pelvic since Im a bit on the small size. Well just have to see.
One of my former RAs, Vanessa, was going to do some maternity shots of me (shes a photography minor) but shes been very busy. I started looking around to see about getting some shots done and found it very expensive but did find one person who was cheap and did it on digital. So on Friday Karl and I went and got maternity shots done. WE did shots together and then shots of just me almost full monty. The pictures came out great and were excited to pick some.
The weekend we spent together, shopping and finishing up some tings around the house. We Karl and I went out to eat and spent time together because this will be the last weekend we can do this since RA training starts next weekend and then school starts and then baby comes. How this all is going to change our lives forever!
Week 37 - 9 months and it's going to end like THIS!
O the 9th month. What a joy! Back aches, swollen feet that no shoes will fit, clothes that just dont fit right, and those endless trips to the bathroom that sometimes results in nothing happening or EVERYTHING happening. So this is what it feels like being pregnant! Well, Im done being pregnant. I want my body back (or whatever is left of it). The only thing is in order to do that a baby needs to arrive and Im not too sure if Im liking how its going to arrive. Im just hoping that my body does well through it all.
This week was very busy the start of RA training. Tireless nights and days of training and working. Went off to RAT camp a two-night overnight trip to a lovely rustic camp area. Dont worry! I didnt stay over. Karl came with me each day, making sure that I didnt push myself too much and I got some time in the pool and sunbathing. Some of my colleagues thought I would have the baby this weekend, and I kept saying this one is staying in the oven until after opening (Aug. 27th) which Lukaroo is proving to everyone wrong and Lulu right.
Yet anything trip to the doctors this week and another cervix check. Nothing happening down there! At least the doctor this week was a bit gentler and everything looks good. Lets see what next week will bring.
Week 38 2 weeks and counting
Can I really get any bigger? I survived RAT Camp, I survived RA training, and now I made it through Move-in Day. This week was very busy long nights and days getting ready for residents to move in. Does the belly stop the energizer bunny aka Lulu? NOoooo. Even with heartburn, endless trips to the bathroom, and sleepless nights the energy of Lulu can not be taken down. And for those who know me I HAVE SLOWED DOWN Im just now at the highest level the average non-pregnant woman can be at which is saying something. Karl is just blown away at my ability and trust me, I do slow down at night time, get those hobbit-like feet up and just bum. More like give orders to Karl to do this and that. Poor man! Im sure hell be very happy when the regular Lulu returns which can be any day now.
We had another doctors visit on Friday. Still nothing happening down there except the cervix is starting to loosen up. Right! She explained that well see how Im doing in a week and then perhaps schedule an induction on Sept.8th if things are not moving along. Thats fine with me. Lukaroo seems to be staying put.
Then on Saturday we had move-in day for residents. I had my first series of Braxton-Hicks had a hard time walking around and just was very tired but by night fall I was fine and no more fake contradictions came back so I really think Lukaroo is staying put for another week or so. Now that I made it through training and opening, Im ready for Lukaroo to arrive. We got a place for you baby out here come out and play with us!!! Everyones waiting for the word and to see you!! Bring it on!
Week 39  (Aug. 28-Sept. 2nd) the final Countdown 7 days to go
Wow!!! We are nearing the end of this crazy adventure. Considering this is the end of it all, Ive had a lot of energy and enthusiasm, almost like regular lulu level. Everyone watch out. On Monday, Aug. 29th we had another ultrasound and were informed that we have a large baby (of 9 pounds) and Im c-section beat. Great! Just want I need to push a watermelon out! So we are starting to think that theres the possibility of having a c section, and that if we get induced I rather just get to the c-section than waiting to find out that I will end up with one. Especially since last Fridays doctor appointment there was nothing happening down there. So this week went by fast work was fine. I unpacked more boxes and decorated my office. I really had a blast of energy so I was climbing all over the place, etc. Yep!! People wont happy with me but heck I feel really good, except at night time. Then I become a walking zombie that has made the bathroom my second home. Geez!!! How many times I make and sometimes for no reason. Baby Lukaroo putting a lot of pressure on the bladder. Also Lukaroo has been moving around A LOTwhat do you think youre doing settling in for a while. I dont think so! Time to move out!
O Friday, we went to another doctors appointment. Again, the joy of the cervix exam and this time very uncomfortable and painful but good news Im 2-3 cm dilated and 70% effaced. How did that happen! Wow!!!! So were moving along. The doctor decided to schedule an induction for next Thursday, Sept. 8th, just in case I dont go before then. We will get a phone call from the hospital at 4-5am to head to the hospital. They will break my water and get pytocin going and hopefully by the evening we will have a baby. She did explained that theres a higher chance of c-section with induction so would prefer I go natural but if Lukaroo doesnt want to move out, were going to help her move out. My doctor didnt seem too concerned about the baby weight because it all can be off 1 pound or so. I didnt gain any weight this week (actually lost weight) and I have such low blood pressure and doing great in all areas. So Karl and I are now working hard on getting this baby to move out. Whatever it takes. The due date is Sunday, Sept. 4th, Labor Day weekend. I think its a good time to lets get it started in here.
