isang classification ng mga commuters Date: 123004
Commuters come in all shapes and sizes. They also come with various attitudes, attitude problems, and mannerisms. A timely snort from the person beside you, or an impolite sneeze blowing snot your way become everyday things for the regular commuter. Here's a look at different kinds of commuters according to their behavior.

  Katabi from hell!:
  • Tulog - sleeps in the vehicle (usually in buses). Sometimes is inconsiderate to you and sometimes leans on you, di mo naman maalis kac tulog ung tao. Minsan din nags-snore nakakailang. And sometimes even drools while he/she sleeps.
  • Space-consuming - eto nakakaasar to, hindi to gagalaw kahit na sobrang sikip na ng inu- upan mo. Also happens to be looking the other direction so as to remain impervious to staring.
  • Kumakain - eats casually in the public vehicle. Makes sickening chewing sounds, fills the area with the smell of food, and scatters crumbs all over your clothes.
  • May putok - ... basta.. hassel ito makatabi. Dahil masama amoy niya.
  • Yosi-boy/girl - maninigarilyo sa jeep, di maka-antay till bumaba. Hassel lalo na pag ayaw mo yung amoy ng usok.

  Trying to get off:
  • Para! - normal way of letting driver know that you're getting off the jeep. Comes in a 2nd variant "sa tabi lang ho".
  • "Kulang sa confidence" - says "para!" but has a very soft voice. Has to repeat it several times before other passengers take notice and help him/her in 'voicing out'. Often finds that the driver has overshot her get-off point.
  • Kumakatok - knocks on the ceiling of the jeep. Usually those at the end of the jeep.
  • SoundFX - uses other means to signal the driver. "Pssst!", sutsot na eLeS style, o kaya pumipito.

  Groups of people:

On a mission (mga taong mag-isa):
  • Short ride - a person who gets on the jeep tapos gets off agad near the point where he rode.
  • Long ride - gets on the jeep and stays there the whole trip, hanggang end ng route.
  • Gentleman - gives his seat to a girl. Galante! Found in buses, wla naman standing sa jeep ehh.
  • Taga-titig - stares at the other passengers with a blank expression on the face. Minsan nakakailang.
