Steamed Mussels


Discard any mussels that have opened before cooking.

Serves 2-3

Ingredients

1 lb (500g) Mussels, cleaned
½ cup /4 fl oz (125ml) Beer
2 tsp (10g) Garlic, minced
2 tsp (10g) Parsley, chopped
1 tsp  (5g) Green onions, chopped

Method

*    Half fill a medium sized saucepan with water.

*    Place the beer, garlic, parsley and green onions in saucepan.

*    Bring to the boil.

*    Add the mussels and cover.

*    Cook until the shells begin to open (about 2-3 minutes).

*    Serve warm.
