American: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/WSHLNAL ************************************************************************** CAMPBELL RIVER/SARATOGA TO RECEIVE NEW OWNERSHIP It's a sad day for the WSHL as Mason Harris has been expelled from the league. His departure will leave a void not only in the position of management, but his presence as an original founding member of the league. The decision to remove him was not a light one to make as the commissioner spent the greater part of the playoffs analyzing the data and giving weight to the testimonies from the owners who brought Mason's tendencies to light. ************************************************************************** WORLD LEAGUE PLAYOFF REVIEW Due to the expulsion of Campbell River, the World League's Western Conference playoffs will be replayed. Hibbing Stink Badgers will receive a bye in the first round. They'll await the winner of an Ibiza Corsairs vs. Kodiak Attack match-up. Once the two rounds are complete, they'll play against the Monarch Lions who were graciously awarded the Eastern Conference championship by the eastern playoff teams. ************************************************************************** WSHL WORLD LEAGUE TRADING Technically the finals were played, so trading in the World League should be allowed. But with the playoffs being replayed, the commissioner has decided to suspend World League trading until the new finals have been played. ************************************************************************** WSHL NORTH AMERICAN LEAGUE TRADING A reminder to North American League teams; trading of players and picks has resumed. Although teams may still only trade one pick for now. Do not forget that all teams will be required to cut down to 14 players plus up to 3 ROR players before the draft. If a team wishes to waive a player from their roster, or begin their cut- down, they may begin to do so. Some players have already been removed from their teams as they were temporarily signed during the season. Unless overruled by Mike, it appears as if Campbell River will end up with the last spot among the teams that exit in the first round (10th place). ************************************************************************** POST SEASON AWARDS - REVISIONS Because of the Harris incident, several changes have occurred with regards to the 2003-04 awards. The second place finalists were given the award in the event that someone from Saratoga or Campbell River won. A: No, the player limit is the upper end limit for the number of players that a team may hold over to the following season. If a team wishes, they may hold between zero and 14 players from their current roster, plus zero to three ROR players. During the draft, they'll need to draft enough players to dress the minimum number of required skaters and goalies (4 forward players at left wing, right wing and center, 6 defensemen and 2 goalies).
