Late September/Early October - Protection lists will be required by current World League teams for the Expansion Draft. Mid-Late October - Start of WSHL season. ************************************************************************** Draft Lottery Results WSHL - World League Chuck Drive won the expansion draft lottery. He'll be choosing first while Chuck Lindgren selects second. For the annual re-dispursion draft, Chuck Lindgren obtains the 13th overall pick and Chuck Drive the 14th. WSHL - North American League The results are in for the North American League's dispursion draft. For those who missed it, the target number was 154. The Expansion Teams will draft a total of 10 players from the existing teams. There is currently no limit to the number of players a team can lose in the expansion. Established teams may protect 10 players including the league's only late round picks. For a list of who qualifies as a late round pick, visit the league web site for a single page Excel worksheet. If don't have excel, speak up and by some miracle, we'll see about getting you the list. The protection lists should be submitted a week before the expansion draft, allowing the commissioner and expansion teams time to organize their draft lists. During this period, there should be a freeze on trades. If there are questions, our commissioner will be available to answer them. ************************************************************************** Award Names There hasn't been any discussion on this subject, but I'll bring it up again since there have been a few new faces added to the league. We're trying to come up with award names, so if you have any suggestions, feel free to post them. Maybe we'll put the list up for vote at the end of the month.
