Things like the headding above shouldn't really change that much from issue to issue, but the articles, standings, and trades will. ************************************************************************** Late All-Stars? For the sake of history, it was proposed that the owners select all-stars from the 2002-03 season. For starters, please choose one player at each position to be nominated. You may select anyone from any team within your division/conference, yours or an opponent, if you so choose. Send your nominations to Scott Shigemi (lugnutgm@yahoo.com) by Sunday, Noon EST. After the deadline, a list of players will be submitted for vote. Example submission Howe Division: LW - Eric Daze (MON) C - Brian Rolston (POR) RW - Miroslav Satan (POR) LD - Bryan McCabe (MON) RD - Sergei Gonchar (POR) G - Patrick Roy (MON) ************************************************************************** Rights of Retention Vote! Explained by Wayne Fedel ROR is a means of protecting players who did not play a full season. At the end of the year you will submit a list of 14 protected players. At that time you also submit of players for ROR (if they qualify depending on the games limit). Lets say the limit is 40 games (20 for a goalie). At the end of the year. You can review your 27 man roster and place any 3 players who would qualify on ROR for the next season. At the time you submit your 14 man protected list you submit your 3 (max) ROR list. The thinking here is...you dont have to waste a 14 man protected slot for these players... HOWEVER.. their is a price... those players are not eligible to play for the next season. So in the case of Samsonov. He played 8 games. At the end of the year he can either be part of the 14 man protected list and PLAY 8 games for you during the season, or...place him on ROR and keep him on your team but DO NOT PLAY him during the season. You can only add players to the ROR at the time you submit your 14 man protected list. So ROR players come from your roster only (if you have any that would qualify). ************************************************************************** Rights of Retention Ballot Please vote on the following by e-mailing the list or Mike Webb (avanderburg9569@rogers.com) 1. To not have a ROR rule and leave the protection limit at a firm 14. 2. To have the ROR rule with the maximum games played limit: a - 20 games skaters / 10 games goalies b - 30 games skaters / 15 games goalies c - 40 games skaters / 20 games goalies The majority choice will be the winner. To refresh, you may protect up to 3 injured or rookie players over your 14 game limit if their NHL game totals did not exceed this number. Goalies will be half the choosen number ie. If 20 games (a) was chosen, then 10 would be the goalie game limit.
