ALHAJI ISA KAITA, WAZIRIN KATSINA
Alhaji Isa Kaita, the third Wazirin Katsina, was the Northern Minister for Education. Born into the family of the first Wazirin Katsina Haruna in 1912. Attended the famous Katsina College with Old Boys No. 111. Attended several Administrative courses in England. Travelled to all the continents on this globe. An elder Statesman who served the Katsina Native Authority, the Northern Nigerian Government and the Federal Government. A Chairman or Director of several Public Companies. Awarded the OBE and CBE by the Queen of England, awarded the CON by the Federal Government and awarded Doctorate Degrees by the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria and the Bayero University Kano. The third most important Northern leader after Sir Ahmadu Bello and Alhaji Aliyu Makaman Bida (see the book, "An Imperial Twilight" by Sir Gawain Bell, 1989). An elder statesman and one of the leaders of the Jama'atu Nasril Islam. He died on Monday 26th September 1994.
The book, ISA KAITA, WAZIRIN KATSINA, was jointly authored with Mr. C.U. Akaa Niro and it gives not only the life and times of the late Waziri but an insight into the several governments he served from the period of colonialism to many military and civilian regimes in Nigeria.
