UNITED STATES LUGE ASSOCIATION

The U.S. Luge Association (USLA) is a member organization of the U.S. Olympic Committee and is the National Governing Body for the sport of luge in the United States.  It is the responsibility of the ULSA to prepare, train and equip the United States National Luge Team for international and Olympic competition, as well as to promote the growth of the sport of luge nationwide.

POSITION:  Team Manager  for Junior National Luge Team. 

OBJECTIVE:  To insure smooth traveling arrangements for the Junior National Luge Team through out the luge season.

DESCRIPTION:  Qualified candidate would oversee all aspects of  Team needs during the luge season (October – February/March) while traveling with the Junior National Team both domestically and throughout Europe for the months of October - February.  (Fist year trial period during Fall Trip)

Some of the Managers duties

- Book keeping.

                - Managing money and exchanges, pay bills, keeping within budget. 

- Make hotel arrangements and double check reservations before arrival

- Double check track time with tracks before arrival.

- Keep in contact with the USLA office.

- Keep the team happy and stress free as much as possible

- Driving vehicle during travel.

- Travel and meal arrangements. 

- Write up daily schedule (consult with coaches), keep the athletes informed of the schedule and keep the team informed about any changes.

  - Deal with any unexpected maters

- After arriving at destination, go to track and check for training time schedule.

  -Prepare start list for track the announcer

- Attend race meetings (attain knowledge of luge rules).  Hold team meetings to distribute race numbers and inform the athletes of the schedule.   Write up the race schedule.

REQUIREMENTS: 

1.     Experience in related field is preferred.

2.     Previous experience working with Junior – High School level youths preferred.

3.     Previous experience as manager preferred.

4.     Ability to interact well with athletes, parents, teachers, coaches, administrators and staff.

5.     Excellent organizational skills are plus

6.     Should be able to drive an automobile with a standard transmission and meet requirements to drive/rent an automobile in Europe (i.e. a clean driver’s license and 25 years of age).
