| I work at circuit city... and all this time working there has taught me a couple of things... one... being that the iPods... suck. GASP! how can \this non trendy guy make such claims... b/c... when you've sold as much as me.. you have the right to. And here are some reasons. | |||||||||||||||
1) the people who buy them. Have you ever seen the people who buy them. Apple will lead you to believe it's the trendy people. Well... it's not. The average "iPod" buyer... is actually someone who tries to be trendy.. but "keeping up with the jonses" which mainly consists of, people who don't know technology from a whole in the wall, and whiney teenage girls. "I want an iPod b/c jenny has an iPod.. and it looks cute... I don't care if the competitiors are $150 cheeper... I want what jenny has.

2) The battery lasts only 18 Months. There is someone who posted a video online that shows this while talking to a customer service rep, This man whose battery died after 18 months was told that he needed to replace his battery. Which cost $250. For that price... get a new one. Here is the site

3) Over priced We all know this... for 10GB it's $300, exscuse me, $299.99. Want 10GB More? take on $100. you know it can't be that much to make b/c the creative Zen (which is 20GB) is $249.99. that's $50 cheaper than the cheapest iPod, and $150 when you compare apples to apples.

4) Firewire? what's Firewire? Ahhh the average question of the PC user who falls into the range of BUYING an iPod. That's right, even though they have iTunes for windows.... you still need a firewire Port... so... you have 2 choices really. 1) Buy a firewire card for $35, or pay $30 for the USB 2 adapter. Cmon... if most of your market is PC (which it is) wouldn't you make it with a USB port instead of an adapter. If you look at the cheaper competition they have USB. One such example is the RCA Lyra. The price of a 40GB Lyra is $399.99. and does come with a USB cord instead of Firewire... scuse me IEEE 1394.
