| My very most favoritest 10 books EVER! | |||||||||||||||||||||
| The Pendragon Cycle | These books are an excellent interweaving of Artherian Legend and Atlantic Myth into a beautifully engaging story. These stories are generally historically accurate, and quite different from the traditional, quite improbably tellings. A must read for anyone who enjoys intricate detail and coherence in works of historical fiction. (There are two new books in the series which are good, but not as closely entertwined as these.) | ||||||||||||||||||||

| The Chestry Oak by Kate Seredy |
A childrens book by an award winning author. Set in the tempestuous era of the second world war, it is the story of identity lost and found, of families destroyed and rebuilt, and virtue held in the face of utter destruction. This is the most beautifully passionate story ever; I don not believe I have ever been so completely caught up and carried along by the emotions of a character before in my life.
| 'Till We Have Faces by C.S. Lewis |
A novel that retells the story of Cupid and his bride and her revengeful sisters. An amazingly insightful and challenging contemplation of love, the character of God, and our relationships to each other. It makes me cry most every time I read it. A masterful tale!
| The Four Pillars of a Man's Heart by Stu Weber |
Stu Weber writes a brilliant discussion of biblical manhood and what it entails. Drawing on his own experience as a Green Beret, thrice decorated with the Gold Star, and as a father and Christian, He carefully lays out how to be a man's man with God's heart in todays world.
| The Bourne Identity by Robert Ludlum | Although many people have seen the movie, fewer have read the book. While the movie was exciting and interesting, the audience was given short-shift as the story line was exeedingly simplified and far less intellectually stimulating than in the original telling. | ||||||||||||||||||||
| The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas | This book is a beautiful combination of action, intrigue, and romance. Again, for those who may pass it up because you have seen the movie, the storyline is so much richer, deeper, and more substantial than that of the movie. I was grieved that they even used this title because the movie was clearly not about this story. | ||||||||||||||||||||
| The Ragamuffin Gospel Ruthless Trust by Brennan Manning |
Two of the most beautiful inspirational books ever. Reading these started me down a wonderful journey of discovering myself and the God who loves me. Certainly they will speak differently to different people, but overall, I have never spoken to anyone who has read these books without a profound life changing experience.
