My trip to Africa
My trip to Africa was the most exciting and fulfilling trip that I have ever been on!!!!!!! On the first day of our trip we were on an airplane for 9 hours to London. This was kind of weird for me because I have never been on a flight for more than 3 hours! There were these people on the flight that kept on arguing so me and my family never got any sleep at all. When we arrived at London it was alot different than I expected . People were riding on the right side of the car which confused me at first then I realized that people in America ride on the opposite side of the road. Every thing in England was so expensive! I couldn't believe how expensive everything is compared to in the United States.
We visited a variety of different places. We visited Hampton court. which was really cool!! We also visited Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, The Tower or London, Windsor Castle and took a boat ride on the Thames River. We wanted to visit other places but we were not in London for a very long time. We were only there for three days. What was really weird was that there was this boy from my school that was going on a flight to London too! This was on the same flight on the very same day! On the last day in London we packed up all our things and got ready to go to Africa. We first went to Victoria station to get a ride to the airport. It was very convenient. When we arrived at the airport we got on the plane and started for Africa!
My mom was so nervous about the whole idea of going to Africa. Me and my dad tried our hardest to calm her down. It was a long long flight to Africa. I'd say about nine hours straight. I didn't get much sleep but I tried my hardest to rest. When we landed my Mom was as nervous as any woman can get! The airport was very dirty. Somebody picked us up and brought us to a hotel. It was nicer than I expected. Everyone in the hotel told us to stay in the hotel because it is dangerous outside of the hotel. There was even a guard right outside our hotel door. We had two rooms. My family had about 3 hours of sleep until we left to go to the airport again to go on safari. I woke up and I felt a lot better than I had been feeling in a long time. This was practically the only sleep I had gotten on this whole trip. We went down to the lobby and we had the driver pick us up again to take us to the airport. As we were driving we saw children on the road begging for money. It was really sad. We also saw a jeep with men with guns in the back. Our driver told us that they were policemen and they were transporting criminals to jail.
We arrived at the airport and we waited for a while for our plane to arrive to take us to the Maisa Mara Interpeds. Club. Our plane finally came. I was very shocked at how small the plane was. I was very nervous to get on that plane. There were not that many people on the plane. The plane only seated about 12 people and that was it. I sat in the front of the plane to watch the pilot in action. We made a couple stops to drop people off and to pick people up. When we landed on a dirt landing strip in the Maisa Mara Game Reserve. There was a Maisa Warroir right there offering us wet towels to wipe ourselves off. I had never seen any kind of tribal person in my life. He was dressed in red cloth and looked very regal. I was ready to get sick, because of airsickness. We drove over to the Maisa Interpeds club and they offered us orange juice and introduced themselves. By the time they were done I was in the bathroom throwing up.
Our tent was very nice. We slept on a four poster bed and there was a net above us to keep the misquotes out. There was a bathroom, including a sink and a shower and a toilet. The people who worked there assured us that it would be perfectly safe. There was Maisa warriors snatching animals off our tent. There also was a electric fence surrounding the whole resort so no wild animals could get in.
On the fist day we got up to go eat breakfast and we ate under a hammock like structure in the picture below

After we ate breakfast Our safari guide Jims took us on a long safari exploration. On our first day there we saw a lioness and her cubs
