Today we began filming
Back to the Present. It was the first time that all of the actors got together. We talked about plans for future days of filming. Mr. Heard gave us ideas about make-up possibility. We also found a site on the internet with lots of scientific data. After the completion of this meeting I finally got the feeling that my dream is going to become a reality. When we actually began filming we went out onto a practice football field and filmed the enterance into the 1950s. I found, with the help of Mr. Heard, an alternate location for the scene. I feel that it is this footage which I will end up using. After filming wrapped, I downloaded the clips onto a computer and I called it a day.

Entry 1: I do not know exactly what we are going to film today. mr. Heard is going to get some costumes from the drama department. If possible I want to film the scene where Maury and Fred meet and begin thinking about how we are going to film the action packed end sequence.

Entry 2: Due to conditions beyound my control, we could not film today. I did, however, rewrite the script and the plot is much better.

Thursday, February 14th, 2002:

We were ready to film Thursday when I got word that Mr. Greg Heard had to leave early in order to make an appointment. I felt that another day was going to waste, not because of Mr. Heard, but becuase I felt we couldn't film anything without him. However, we did film about an hour and a half today. We wrapped up the Scene 3 which required only Maury and an office lady. There's a great story there! We were going to the office in order to find one of the office ladies to film the part, but all of the office people had already left. We are on our way back and we see one of the guidance office ladies about to leave. I stop her and ask her if she will play this small role. She is reluctant to even begin a conversation with us, but she finally came around. We explained to her the primise of the movie and she told us that what we were doing was wrong! [She actually said that!] She would have to send the visitor up to the office to get a visitor pass. All we wanted was a twenty second shot with this lady, but she wouldn't do the part if we were breaking school rules. We agreed to her requests and we filmed the scene with her. She was as darling as can be about the whole thing and I thank her. After we finished the office shott, we filmed Maury's run through the halls to the office and called it a week. We will film again on Monday, February 18th, 2002.

Monday, February 18th, 2002:

Today was a great day for filming our movie. Becuase of the Presidents day holliday, the school was empty except for the teachers. This meant that we were going to be able to get a lot filmed. We met at Mountatin Brook High School at 2:00 p.m. and we began looking over the script at what would be best to film. I already had an idea of what I wanted to get filmed, but I was going to run it by with them really quickly. The scene we ended up fiming today was the one that I wanted to film last Wednesday. Today was the first time that I head seen Mr. Heard in his fifties outfit and it was quite a surprise. Greg and Maury knew their lines, but they couldn't do the whole scene in one take. We ended up filming about five lines and then cutting to another angle and continuing on. To complete this scene we ended up filming in three different places. Everyone was really helpful around the school. We completed the filming of scene four in about two hours and we began the filming of scene 5. Greg and Maury were no where near as prepared to do scene 5 and so we called it a day for the major filming.
