*Ask Me A Question*
Yep, I too have this! You know what to do, ask whatever you want and it will be answered right here. Your identity shall remain a mystery, as well. Don't you love it?
When can we talk?
I think I know who asked this :P I'll try to be there next weekend! I promise!
How come you call Javier "reivaj" backwards, is it just for the internet?
No, there's actually a story for it. In late 2002, when I started to think Javier (pronounced hah-VYER) was more than a friend to me, I felt the need to express my feelings secretly, so I created two names in code: Raybach (REY-vaj) and Azzylehm, which are Javier and Melisa backwards, with a crazy combination of Spanish, English and German phonetics. This way I could write his name all over my notebooks without him knowing! Later on, when we were already together, I noticed he was using "Reivaj" (it's the same as Raybach, but with the Spanish phonetics) as his e-mail signature, which surprised me a lot, because I hadn't told him about my coded names mania. So it remained as his pseudonym, which I love.
were you brought up listening to vintage sounds or was it something you discovered yourself? if the latter, when, and how?
Well, both. When I was little, the only rock'n roll albums we had were Beatles ones (Rubber Soul, Please Please Me and "The Blue Album"). I liked them a lot when I was four, and even saw Yellow Submarine. Unfortunately, I sort of "forgot" about them for some years, until I rediscovered them when I was fourteen. My father tought me to play "Yesterday" on guitar and gave me a CD-ROM with their entire discography, which absolutely blew my head! The Beatles monopolized my ears for a couple of years, but thanks to them I found out about some of my favourite artists: The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan... and that was mainly because I felt enormously attracted to the 60's (still do! did you know?), and for that I owe myself... and Art. But I have to give credits to those who enlightened me with many sounds: Sheemy (Arlo Guthrie, The Yardbirds, Traffic... and we drove each other crazy with Led Zeppelin!) Trick (Genesis, The Hollies) and, of course, Reivaj (Pink Floyd, Sonic Youth, King Crimson, The Velvet Underground, The Kinks... all of them!).
Would you conceive a world without pepper? I mean, ants can be so a way of understanding if you stare at them coming and going for hours, after all , didn't you feel a bit stunned when you realized that everthing we touch is likely to be?
It's interesting that you mentioned ants, because they are the most "responsible" insects of the animal kingdom, aren't they? They wouldn't conceive a world without pepper, so, if they liked pepper, they would save up and glorify a MOUNTAIN of pepper with the excuse of the proximity of winter. And that's precisely why they've become so disgustingly mechanical over the centuries! Everything I touch is likely to be. True, but dangerous. I mean, I kicked an anthill once. I don't know if its inhabitants existed before I did that, but let me assure you they did a second later! Not-pretty.
What possible answer could you give to the following question? Is it possible for people to stop living aimlessly? And if so, why do you think they should find a goal when the they have a blank universe falling all the time behind their backs?
Do you really need a goal when you know that your mere existence is a miracle, the result of hundreds of causes and consecuences impulsed by a magical and mysterious force that gave you the priceless chance to be? I didn't give you an answer, of course, but please explore yourself a bit more before you judge the wonder of the Universe.
Who's your favourite cloud or tree?
Hmm. I don't even know if clouds are real. But "the tree is the truth" (Luis Alberto Spinetta), and it is my favourite symbols of Nature.
is this a website, or just a funny old hive?
I had never asked myself that. Probably neither.
