These are the steps I took to start my education journey
1) Reasearch what kind of education you are looking to recieve.

-I chose nursing because it best fit my personality and goals in my life.

2)
Find out what kind of degree you would like to go for. i.e. A.S.N, B.S.N

- I decided to go for a B.S.N. because I felt that it best fit the level of nursing that I hope to obtain.

3)
Apply to colleges that best fit your decisions.

- The type of college I decided to start out at was a community college because I was an out-of-state student.  By attending community college first, the cost is lower, allowing me to gain state residency.  I plan on transferring to a 4-year college next year.

4)
Apply for financial Aid

- I applied early (around February to March) because it allowed me an earlier registration.  This will help because a lot of the Health classes and prerequisites fill up very fast.  I also qualified for a work study program which allows me to work part-time and have the flexibility required to fit in my schedule.

5)
Meet with a college counselor to help guide your educational path

- Do this as soon as possible, it really helps if you don't know what is required.  The counselor I met with laid out a 2 year plan which I still follow today.

6)
Register for classes

- Once again, register as early as you can.  Nursing is beginning to be a poplular major for students and classes fill up very fast.
