Crochet had become my new hobby. Below is a few patterns that I have finished. I mostly do Single Crochet so that is why the patterns are mostly single crochet.
Single Crochet Toque
One Skein Crochet Scarf
Yarn Used: Any kind of basic yarn will work.
Yarn Used: Lion Brand- Chenille Thick & Quick in black
Scarf:
Chain 82.
Foundaion Row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 1, turn. Work pattern Rep 8 more times. Fasten off. Weave ends.
Pattern Row 1: Sc in first sc, sc in back loop of each sc across to last sc, sc in last sc.

For wider Scarf: Work additional rows with additional Lion Brand Chenille Thick and Quick.
For Shawl Width: Work additional rows with additional yarn until piece measures is as desired. Or you can keep going for a luxurious throw.
For Longer Scarf: Add 3 ch for each additional 2" of length desired to initail ch 82. then work pattern above with additional yarn.
Toque (ski hat):
Make a chain that will go around your head.
Foundation Row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook. Sc in each chain across. Turn.
Row 2: Chain 1, Sc in every Sc across, turn.
Continue row 2 until desired hight on head. End off, leaving enough yard to sew the side edges together.

Sew the side seam using an overcast stitch.
Now pull the top together at four equally spaced points. Stitch together with a few stiches.
Now turn inside out .
you can add pom pom or go with out.

(The above patteren is based on the pattern from "A yarn Kid Hat" from the book: Single Crochet for Beginners by Cindy Crandall-Frazier.)
(The above pattern from the Lion Brand Website.)
