We are expecting a baby BOY!
Dorian William

Our baby Boy is due August 29th, 2004, Carson's b-day is on August 31st.

~December 18, 2003(3 weeks)
I took a HPT just before we left for the Mayan Riviera, and it was positive! I was 3 weeks pregnant.

~December 30, 2003(5 weeks)
I had my first doctor's appointment.

~January 16, 2004(7 weeks)
we had our first ultra sound. The baby's heart beat was 148, and he/she was 1.5 centimeters long.

~January 29, 2004(9.5 weeks)
We had our second doctor's visit and heard the baby's heart beat on the Doppler for the first time. At 9.5 weeks this is very early to hear the heartbeat so I feel very lucky.

~February 2, 2004(10 weeks)
We had our second ultra sound and we got to see our baby move for the first time.

~February 23, 2004(13 weeks)
We had our third doctor's visit and heard the baby's heart beat again on the Doppler, but this time the baby would not stop moving so we had to look for the heartbeat over and over again.

~March 11, 2004(15.5 weeks)
Today is my birthday! I had my 4th doctor's visit and the baby is doing well with a nice strong heart beat.
I also started doing pre-natal Yoga this month, it seems to realy relax me and I enjoy doing it a lot. I plan on doing it everyday hopfully until the baby is born.

~March 15, 2004(16 weeks)
Carson and I went to the States(Fargo) this past weekend to see if we could get any deals on a few things we needed. I was having a hard time finding some cloths here, and I was lucky enough to find a few things down in the states. We also bought our baby's crib and a pack-n-play(with bassinet), and I got my motion and sound monitor that I wanted. It was on sale for a realy good deal. On Sunday we got into a little car accident, someone bumped into us from behind at a red light. We are okay and I was not hurt, the other car was trying to stop but they slid into us, they were not going very fast. I still worried a little after, but I felt my baby move soon after the accident, and I continue to feel the baby move today.

~March 16, 2004(16 weeks)
I went for my Tripple Screen Test today, hopefuly I will have the results in a week. I also met my Mom for lunch.

~March 19, 2004(16.5 weeks)
Today I registered Carson and I for infant/child CPR classes. It is not till June, but I wanted to make sure we were able to get into the class.
I am starting to feel the baby on a daily basis now, it is quite exciting, I usualy feel him/her a couple of times a day for short periods of time.

~March 25, 2004(17.5 weeks)
Today is a wonderful day! I got my Triple Screen Test results back, and they were negative. The percentages were 1 in 5,000 for Spina Bifida and 1 in 23,000 for Down Syndrome. I am so happy!!!

~March 29, 2004(18 weeks)
I have been feeling a lot of pressure in my abdomen off and on. It happened to me a couple of times last week and most of the day today. I called the doctor because I was concerned and he said that it was normal as long as I didn't have cramping and discharge. So I am just trying to relax and take it easy so the pressure goes away.

~April 3, 2004(18.5 weeks) My vent entry
I just get so frustrated when people feel they can give unsolicited advice to me about my baby and how long I should breastfeed, what to name my child and so on. I dont understand why people even bother, especially when I have not asked for their advice. I thought I have kept most of my views to myself, but when I think I can tell someone something I soon regret it. So from now on I dont think I will be telling anyone anything. This might be hormones talking but I am very frustrated.
My Mother tried to tell me that Dorian is a girls name, which a few other people have mentioned, I must say this frustrates me to no end. Dorian is a Boys name. If anyone looked up the name they would soon learn the definition, which is - Greek,Male,Form of DORE - a gift.

~April 5, 2004(19 weeks)
I had a doctors appointment today. The baby's heartbeat was 148, which always seems to be what it is. I told Carson I think we might have a pretty relaxed baby seeing as how the heartbeat is always the same. Everything seems to be going well and I can't wait for my ultra sound on the 8th.

~April 8, 2004(19.5 weeks)

Today we had an Ultra Sound!! the baby looks really good. He/she has all of her fingers and toes and very long arms and legs. The heartbeat was 153 today. He/She was moving around like crazy, waveing her/his little hands at us, it was really a wonderful thing to be able to see our baby.
Today we start our birthing classes. Today and next Thursday are Early Bird classes where we talk about nutrition and breastfeeding and other stuff. And in June we start the actual delivery classes for 6 weeks, once a week.

~April 13, 2004(20 weeks-half way to go)

On the Easter long weekend we started to paint the baby's room! I am so excited to get it finished, but we still have a lot to do. We are almost done painting which I will be glad for when it is over. The colours we chose are Autumn Leaves for the main colour and Ginger Peachy for the trim colour. Autumn Leaves is a pastel orange, and Ginger Peachy is a light muted yellow colour. It looks really great and it will look wonderful once we put in our white furniture.

~April 18, 2004(21 weeks)

Today Carson finished painting the baby's room and set up the Crib (Picture of our crib) . We love it, it is very nice and looks great in the room. We will probably take the wheels off of it though, I don't think we will need wheels on a crib.
Yesterday we lucked out big time! Carson saw a garage sale when he went for a jog, so we went to it when he got home and we picked up a "Baby Trakker" baby carrier. They sell for about $100.00 in the store and we got it for $35.00. The lady said she never used it because she had twins, so we were pretty lucky in finding it. It carries baby's up to 40 pounds or 3 years of age, so we will get a lot of use out of it.

~April 21, 2004(21 weeks)

Today was the due date if our first baby that we lost at 9.5 weeks on September 21, 2003.

~April 27, 2004(22 weeks)

I have been feeling the baby move on a daily basis now for the last week. It is a wonderful feeling to know that my baby is doing fine, it really helps me to relax a lot knowing that nothing has gone wrong up to this point in our pregnancy.
I feel very tired all the time now. I find it hard to do a lot of active things at once and I tend to feel pretty useless now. I wish I had more energy but my back is begining to get a little sore when I do things and I find I can't do nearly as much as I did two months ago.

We are still in the process of finishing the baby's room but we set up the crib and put shelves on the wall. We have pictures too!!
We still need to get a nice rug, a dresser and a rocking chair and we will have everything set for when the baby comes home.

~May 3, 2004(23 weeks)

I had a Doctors appointment today and I was told that my due date has been changed due to what my Ultra Sounds showed. I am now due supposidly on August 24th, it changed only by one week so who knows, the baby could still come on or after the 29th. But it is kind of exciting to know that I might have the baby a little earlier then the 29th. But I wont get my hopes up too much, I just want the baby to come when she/he is ready.

~May 10, 2004(25 weeks)

I have been feeling my baby move and kick a lot now with stronger movements then ever before.
Carson picked up a really nice rocking chair last week, I have been sitting in it a lot and it is very comfortable, I can't wait to have my baby to rock with me.

~May 24, 2004(26 weeks)
Carson finally saw the baby move for the first time today! The baby was kicking me a little so I told Carson to watch my belly, and sure enough baby kicked again and my belly jumped. He was very excited, so I am happy for him that he finally got to see the baby move. Our baby tends to be quiet at night and more active in the day so Carson doesn't have as many opportunities to see the baby move.

~May 31, 2004(27 weeks)
We went to our doctors appointment today. Everything is going well. The doctor said my blood pressure was a little high so she wants to see me in two-three weeks. Our doctor uses an old timey machine so Carson and I went to a Pharmacy after my appointment and used one that they had there and my blood pressure was even below average, so I must have just been a little hot or something when she took my blood pressure. Hopefully next time I go it will be okay and I will mention to her about taking my bp at the pharmacy to see what she says, especially if it is high with her old machine.
I have to go and take my blood sugar test, I am hoping it will be good but I have a feeling I will fail.

~June 4, 2004(27.5 weeks)
I passed my sugar test!!! yah I am so happy!
Carson is away this weekend on a Golf Trip with work, so I will have to tell him when he gets home, he will be happy to hear the good news.
Baby is moving like crazy today, I don't think it has stopped once since I woke up.

I got a whole bunch of things from my Brother the other day for the baby. He gave us a bunch of sleepers, a stroller with an infant car seat, a baby bath tub, tunes of receiving blankets and undershirts. All of the things I have been given are wonderful and I am so thankful for it all, it sure helps us out a lot with all the things we need to get.

I picked up a really cute orange and yellow stripped onsie to bring the baby home in, it comes with a little yellow and orange hat, it is very cute! But I packed a few things, lol, I can't decide which one is cuter, I also have a light green Baby Bum onsie with matching pants that I found at a garage sale, and I put in a nice white soft valor sleeper that we bought just incase it is a little chilly the day we bring the baby home.
Time is ticking by, I can't believe I am already in my third trimester!

My Brother's soon-to-be wife told me that she has quessed what all of her friends were having when they were pregnant and she said she has guessed right each and every time. When I saw them this week she told me I was having a boy, and we did the ring test and it said I was having a boy, so we will just have to wait and see. My instinct tells me girl, but I can be wrong, and with the amount of boys in Carson's family I would not be surprised if it was a boy.

~June 15, 2004(29 weeks)
We went to the Doctors today. My OB has set up an appointment for us to have a Fetal Assessment on the baby. I was measuring 33 weeks and I am 29 weeks, so she wants to make sure everything is okay. Our appointment is June 21st.

~June 21, 2004(30 weeks)
We had our Fetal Assessment today. Everything looks wonderful. Baby is growing on schedule and is in the 60th percentile for growth. I dont have too much fluid which might have been the cause for my size. I am just having a big baby and with the way I am carrying the baby I look a lot larger then most women at my stage.
We were given a picture of our baby today! Very neat, we are pretty excited about that, and we also found out our baby s gender. But we are keeping it a surprise!

~July 3, 2004(31.5 weeks)
Wow I can't believe I only have 8 weeks to go now. Time sure has flown by, but it seems like these last 8 weeks will go by so much slower then the first 8 weeks did. Maybe because I am getting more and more uncomfortable now.
I seem to have insomnia quite often and don't fall asleep some nights till 2 a.m. I am also very tired all the time! and don't seem to get around as well as I did even a couple of weeks ago.
I feel our baby move a lot still and this is wonderful. The baby seems to really love music too. Everytime I put a cd on our baby always lets me know that she/he is listening.

~July 5, 2004(32 weeks)
Doctors appointment today went well, baby even kicked when we were listening to the heartbeat. Our doctor said our baby is about 5 pounds already! wow I can't believe it, and he/she is only going to get BIGGER!
I only gained 1 pound in three weeks! yah! I like that.
I am not sure if I mentioned it but Carson and I are taking birthing classes for 6 weeks every Tuesday, we have 4 classes left, we will be done them when I am 35 weeks.
I have noticed my pregnancy brain is getting the best of me these days. I can't seem to remember anything any more. I even have to mark on the calendar if I have taken my vitamins or not, it really is funny but yet annoying as well. I am surprised I even remember how to spell sometimes.

~July 17, 2004(33.5 weeks)
We have started telling people that we are having a boy. The secret got out this past weekend when we were at my Nephews 1 year b-day party. Carson said "He" and "Him" a couple of times so the secret wasn't much of a secret anymore. It is fun telling people that we are having a boy, but the name thing is always an issue. I absolutly love the name Dorian, and the meaning of this name to us is very special. He is a gift, and because his name starts with "DOR" it is dear to our hearts that he is named after his Grandmother Dorothy, and William is very special to Carson who is his dear bestfriend whom he lost as well.

My pregnancy is going okay, could be better. All of a sudden starting on Sunday the 11th I have had bad swelling in my feet and my pregnancy induced carpal-tunnel is very bad. I have it 24/7 no matter if I am doing something or doing nothing my fingers are always tingly. I assume it is because Dorian has moved down a bit and he is putting pressure on some nerves. I feel like I am 40 weeks pregnant and not 34. But other then that things are great, Dorian is moving a lot which keeps me happy, I worry if I don't feel him moving so I think he must know this and he gives me a little jab every once in a while.

I couldn't mention this before cause it would have given it away, but when we saw Dorian at 30 weeks, he sure did look like Carson, lol. He seemed to have the same shaped head as Carson and their face structure looked so much alike. But we only have 6 more weeks to find out for sure what our little guy looks like. I can't wait!

~July 23, 2004 (34.5 weeks)
My doctors appointment went well. I tested negative for Strep B, which is wonderful. We wont have to be rushing to the hospital when I start my contractions, which is how we want things to go.
Not much new except for the fact that my back hurts all the time now, this is a very new thing for me so I am trying to get use to the fact that I can't do much for long periods of time.
I started making a scrap book for Dorian, trying to get a little ahead since I know I wont have time when he is born, but it looks really good and I am happy with it so far. I just have to add more pregnancy pictures once they are developed.
I went for a massage on Monday, man that was nice! now I just need a pedicure too! lol

~August 5, 2004(36.5 weeks)
Doctors appointment went pretty well. Heart beat was 134 and Dorian's head is defiantly down. I was in a lot of discomfort this past weekend and I swore he had dropped and was hopping he had dropped because everything felt so different. Sure enough he did, which explains the way I have been feeling.
I am being sent for another ultra sound on Monday. Our Doctor wants to see how big Dorian is, so we will get another little peek at our little guy and hopefully get another picture of him to take home.

~August 9, 2004 (37 weeks)
Our Fetal Assessment went well. Dorian is a good size and he shouldn't be too big when he is born. We had a good look at him, and even saw his boy parts this time around. We got a little wave and also a picture of his hand to add to our collection.

~August 10, 2004(37 weeks)
Our doctors appointment went well, HB was about 140. I was told I would not be induced at any point unless I went 7 days past my due date. I was hoping they wouldn't let me go past my due date but it doesn't look like that will happen. So I am waiting and waiting.
I am in so much pain constantly! my pelvis is so sore even when I am sitting and doing nothing it hurts so much. Dorian is still moving a lot which is painful as well, but I would panick if I didn't feel him move so I would rather have the pain then not feel him move at all.

~August 16, 2004(38 weeks)
Doctors appointment was a little frustrating today. I was examined and I was completley shut and my doctor told me she could not feel Dorian's head, which then made her think that because he was on the big side I would be a good candidate for a c-section. I was not happy to hear that. She thought his head was not even down in my pelvis but it is so that is a good sign that he is moving down on his own. Hopfully she will be able to feel his head at my next appointment.

~August 19, 2004(38.5 Weeks)
Oh my goodness! I swear Dorian has moved more down into my pelvis. I can hardly walk at all and I so did not want to get out of bed at all. I was just feeling so awful and felt that something was going on, today was a bad day.

~August 21, 2004(38.5 Weeks)
I can hardly walk at all now, I thought it was bad before when I thought Dorian dropped at 36 weeks. Well this is so much diffrent and I feel so much pressure and I have to pee so much more often then ever before. I am hoping big time that my doctor will feel his head this time and hopfully I am even dilated a little, but I don't want to get my hopes up too much to just be told that there is no change.
