"Memories, light the corners of my mind. Misty water coloured memories, of the Way We Were. Scattered pictures, of the smiles we left behind. Smiles we gave to one another for the way we were. Can it be that it was all so simple then? Or has time re-written every line? If we had the chance to do it all again, tell me would we? Could we? Memories may be beautiful and yet, what's too painful to remember we simple choose to forget. So it's the laughter, we will remember, whenever we remember the way we were. The way we were..." - Alan and Marilyn Bergman
In 1973 director Sydney Pollack created for the world one of the most magical films the world had ever seen. The Way We Were was a big film for many reasons, although the true cause for the film's success is fundamentally due to the on screen chemistry between Goddess Barbra Streisand and cool-guy Redford. The two worked magically, the characters were so complex and rich, and their love was poignant and expressive. This site, the only site dedicated to the film, will cover photographs, news and information about the film. So please take a look around and enjoy the magic that is The Way We Were.
