Hi, my name is Sandy and along with my husband Jim and dogs, we reside on beautiful Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. I have loved dogs for as long as I can remember. My first love was the German Shepherd Dog, whom I spent over fifteen years showing, trialing and breeding. After fifteen years and much heartbreak over genetic health concerns, I decided to look for a genetically healthier breed to share my life with. In 1989 After viewing some photos of Norwegian Buhunds in a "Dogs in Canada" magazine, I decided to further research the breed. After much research and finding out the breed had very few genetic health concerns, I decided I would like to share my life with one. I picked my first puppy up at the airport in June of 2000. I was in love almost instantly! I named my little guy "Bu" and after some time, I decided I would like to get another one. My little girl "Secret" arrived via airport in Aug of 2001. Though I am active in showing, trialing and plan on producing a litter of Buhunds every few years, I more importantly enjoy my dogs as part of the family! |
